Why I almost quit G@G for $20

For those that know me on this site, you know that I'm fairly straight forward. Most of my questions (all 10 of them) and answers and opinions are pretty much meant to make fun of others, as well as myself... For fuck's sake, my avatar is the Michael Jordan surrounded by Jordan cry face memes :D. I don't take this site too seriously for a myriad of reasons. With that said, there is another side to me. A thinking side that does have a lot to say, but I'll get to that in a quick minute

We all obviously know that gag is a tight community so it shouldn't be a surprise that I make fun of people on this site for generally being soft. And I'll also be the 1st to say that people give a lot of stupid opinions. Even though I'm kidding, but not really :P, I generally like the people on this site. People for the most part give funny and/or informative opinions, very stimulating myTakes, thought provoking questions, very challenging responses, etc... Now for the nitty gritty stuff y'all might not like :D

Like I said, I dick around a lot. I give an arbitrary number like 90% of the time, I'm fucking around, while the other 10% i'm serious. The reason, admittedly, is kinda a selfish and somewhat sad 1 to me. It generally stems from the fact that I don't like being subjected to seeing how people really think; what really goes through their mind; how they really see the world

I can't say this for the entire world, but something closer to home (literally) and what prompted this take was this question of Harriet Tubman replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill (question cred: @Bandit74). The comments generally hurt me. not necessarily because of people's opinions, so much as it the dichotomy of how far we've come as a country, yet how little we progressed as a society. 2 answers that struck me were @AleDeEurope and @OlderAndWiser. For the most part, they give good advice overall. If y'all have a problem with me calling y'all out, sorry, should've thought about it should watch what you write :|. Tough shit fam... Don't say stupid shit next time. With all that said, don't pin it all on those 2 cause realistically, I can give 10 more examples in that question, alone, and literally give you thousands of more questions on this site (and other sites) from millions of other people ranging from anything to women's rights, immigration, muslims, same sex and any other "issue" you wanna bring up

The 1st issue is that this is an issue at all. It's a fucking $20 bill switching from 1 person to another. Moreover, it's 1 that celebrates 1 of the most famous abolitionists in the country's history. And yet, all you hear is that "it's a sjw move" or "it's because of feminism" or "to please black people". Is that how people really see the world? Because something changes from 1 thing to another, it can't be to simply recognize a great person?

Then there's this idea of an all or nothing idealism. This exists in @OlderAndWiser's argument. Specifically, he highlights that taking Jackson (who for the most part, was a shitty person overall) is bad because the "social agenda" will cause George Washington to be removed from the $1 bill because we are judging people by today's standards... Since when is genocide and displacing an entire race and ethnicities ever ok? Why? Because he did other good things, and I quote: "It is easy to condemn historical figures by today's standards. However, the process of condemnation seems to be very selective. Jackson was considered a hero for his victory at the Battle of New Orleans and for his leadership in the First Seminole Wars in Florida. He was considered a president of the people , the first populist president, and many considered him a hero for toppling the Second National Bank"... Literally what the shit kind of logic is that? Oh, a great 1. that's why i'm looking to start a movement to get hitler on the Euro... You know, once you look past the Holocaust and starting a 2nd World War, his contribution of germany breaking out of the international banking system, built up Germany's economy, him being a MAJOR advocate of animal rights, gave Germany almost 0 employment, his contributions for free technology research, being the father of the Autobahn and his stance on strong working unions, women's rights and children's rights makes him a real stand up guy, don't you say? I know the Jewish community is with me, right y'all? :|

Now to address what my homeboy, @AleDeEurope, had to say, "... she (Tubman) wasn't part of the birth and construction of this country. She may have helped people, and I'm not saying she did wrong, not at all, I highly value what she did, but she didn't actually help build this country, she helped individuals get free from slavery, but that was already something many people were fighting for... Lincoln was a president and did much more for the country than her, so you can't really compare them." Now, I'm not going to highlight all the bullshit in that statement because it should be fairly obvious for anyone who passed, I don't know, 10th grade social studies. Or if you're genuinely curious in the answer, again, click on the link and go to his post and my response, but the point is to highlight this other stupid thing people do; Beside being factually wrong and ignorant in about 10 different levels, it just shows this mind-numbingly stupid idea that the everything is about being most important or things are mutually exclusive and, therefore, anything less, should be ignored and less important

Now, I realize i'm gonna piss off a lot of people because I'm "race baiting", tough shit. I guess I am. Guess what. It's 2016. The fact that people have this mindset and think this way says more about y'all than anything else. You want America and the world to be a better place, but then still so full of shit that anything that highlights something that doesn't apply to your race, gender, religion, ethnicity, creed and isn't something you're used to is dumb, bad or stupid and being forced down your throat when realistically

A) it won't affect your life in the smallest minutia

B) will benefit or at least make other people happy

Hopefully I didn't piss off too many people... If so, I cool. Y'all seem not so keen on political correctness so here's what I got :). Now, does this make me a social justice warrior? I hope not :/. I'm just a firm believer in the Golden rule and common fucking sense, which I've come to see, is not so common. But if it does mean I am, I'll gladly accept that title if it means it'll help in any way possible for us to move to a place where everyone feels like they're in a better place and play on an even playing field. The point of this take? Not necessarily to educate anyone. Ironically, that's what I feel myTakes should generally be about. I'm kinda disappointed cause I thought my 1st myTake would be about how to fart in public and get away with it or something stupid like that :D. I'm sad that I got to this point where I felt the need to make this take and I genuinely hope that I never feel the need to write a take like this again

This mytake is pretty much to blow off steam on 1 of many things I've noticed and let people know that no, the world doesn't revolve around you. Just because something changes that you aren't accustomed to is bad. That other people do actually appreciate and want their heroes to be recognized for their achievements and just because you don't see them as such means they aren't. And finally, yes, despite being the internet and being able to speak your mind, there is such a thing as ignorance and stupid opinions and can be highlighted for others to see. You might not think that way you're right, but I think I'm a dinosaur. You (whoever this applies to) being so cynical that, God forbid, I, the government or the rest of fucking society recognize, appreciate and celebrate the right people for their contributions to an entire race and society to where we are today in a positive manner

note: I was trying to find a relevant "I'm not racist but..." meme and failed so this is up solely because I found it absolutely hilarious :D
