Everything slowly changes when you live together. Once you are living together, many of the things we do to be polite seem to fall by the wayside. It may be quite common place to see your girlfriend sitting on the toilet or to hear your boyfriend blowing his nose. The veils slowly drop and you see the unfiltered version of the person you thought was Mr. or Ms. Right. They may say things that they previously would have not expressed. They may still be Mr. or Ms. Right but you are obviously seeing them differently.

There are challenges in getting accustomed to seeing the same person every morning and every night. What is your biggest concern about a long term relationship or marriage? What do you think is the most likely potential problem that you will encounter?

Well let’s start with my position in all this. I’m currently talking to a girl who’s friends with the girl who left my roommate for my friend so I’m trying to determine what to do about that but that’s for a different time. The story is that my roommate and his girlfriend ended up breaking up and that’s all I got from that. Then I ended up finding out that my friend is, what I think, the reason they may have broken up. My roommate knows about the friend who took his girl considering he was a mutual friend. I just don’t know what side to get behind, so I would love some advice

Ask guys what they understand about girls and relationships and most of them will eventually say that girls want their boyfriend to be their best friend. We understand that. You want your boyfriend to be closer than anyone else, to be your confidante, to be supportive and caring, to always be there for you. Yeah, we get that. And actually. . . many guys want the same thing in a girlfriend.

So, when your best male friend indicates that he is attracted to you, why do you automatically go to that instinctive, sub-cortical, knee jerk reaction: "But I don't want to take a chance on losing our friendship!" Do you know how lame that sounds to guys? Do you know how STUPID that sounds? And it actually makes some of us angry just to hear those lame words!

How often do you actually have a relationship in which your partner DOES become your best friend? If you feel some physical attraction to your male best friend, wouldn't that give you the best possibility of finding that boyfriend/best friend combination?

Or, is this "But I don't want to take a chance on losing our friendship!" line just a pathetic way of avoiding telling us that you aren't attracted and the idea of actually kissing us makes you want to vomit?
