If you're talking to a guy you just met and you want to meet with him again, would you prefer for him to ask for your number, or you get his number?

I've heard that some women prefer to get the guy's number because then they feel they have control, but then I've heard girls say they prefer guys to text first.
So I'm curious what you girls prefer.

There's this girl at work that I really like. She's so upbeat and bubbly, something that I rarely ever see, and I'm super attracted by it. I get really anxious around her, but she also fills me with confidence.
Anyways, relating to the question, the first few times we had talked, she seemed really engaged in the convo, and laughed at all my jokes, as nervous as I was. I ended up inviting her to a get together for my bday, to which she excitedly said yes. It was at a restaurant and she didn't show (she ended up telling a co-worker of mine though that she couldn't find us at the place, so she left).
About a week or so later, I barely saw her around, except for one night, when another co-worker of mine was flirting with her. She ended up sticking around after work to tell him goodnight. After that I thought maybe she liked him, so I hadn't really talked to her much.
Until today, I come to drop some stuff off at her dept. and she says good morning with her effervescent voice. We start to talking and she apologized for missing my bday party, and said to me "Well I'd love to do something like that with you, if you do something like that again. I guess I'd just need your number." I told her about some plans my friends and I had this week, and she said she'd love to go.
Later on that day, I ended up giving her my number, and she immediately started texting me at work. Then I asked her to join me for lunch, but her break wasn't as long as mine so we didn't get to. But she promised we would another day. The rest of the day was us pretty much running into each other and awkwardly smiling at each other.
So after this long explanation, what do you think? Does she like like me? Or is she just being her friendly self?
