I met someone from online. We messaged for a week. Video chatted after and then had dinner two weeks ago. He asked for a second date during our first date and texted me something nice shortly after we had dinner. He then didn’t message me again until the day after late in the afternoon. It was very brief and then I messaged him the next day. When we text, I get we are both busy but we don’t write to one another back-to-back on a daily basis. And no good morning/how are you texts. Mostly just picking up on what we spoke about last. I spoke to him briefly asking how he felt about me and he told me that he liked me and really enjoyed our date, I’ve just been kind of giving him a hard time because he’s not as direct as the guys I’ve previously spoken to. I don’t know if it’s because it’s too soon for him, if he’s shy or just not interested.

We had our second date earlier this week and the day prior to meeting up, I brought to his attention that I was curious as to why he doesn’t message me often. He said previously I was at work and he didn’t want to get me in trouble and he didn’t want to come across as a bother. Since this conversation, for the past two days he texted me more often during the day but today he only responded to the text I sent from this morning. He doesn’t randomly check up on me or anything that I’d generally expect when you are in the early stages of talking to someone. He asked me out for dinner during our second date but NEVER tried to kiss/hug/or hold my hand.

So there's this guy who's been texting me once or twice a week for about half a year now and I have no idea why keeps texting me if he doesn't ask me to meet him or wants to talk about much. He's shy in general but comfortable with sharing personal details, we're friends and see each other once a week. I just don't understand his behaviour. He feels lonely sometimes he told me as much and he dated a friend of mine before we met about nine months ago. I asked him whether he wanted to have coffe once and it was super nice and he replied "definitely" to the question but hasn't said anything about meeting up (just the two of us) since and keeps texting me. What the hell is going on?
