I came home from work one day to find that my wife of 4 years had packed her bags & all her stuff & walked out leaving me & our 2 kids for no apparent reason & without offering any kind of explanation. About 6 months after she had disappeared, I found out via her parents that she had been using crack cocaine & living with a 46yo man who was supposedly her boyfriend. During those 6 months she ignored ALL my texts and calls, even the texts regarding our kids.

After 6 months of no contact, I messaged her saying the time & location of our daughter's 2nd birthday, to which she replied back saying she would attend. However on the day of our daughter's birthday she never turned up & didn't bother replying to my messages, at which point contact then stopped between us for a further 8 months. She finally came back home to her parents house (after 14 months away) and actually went into to a rehab centre. I texted her assuring her that she could see the kids again if she got clean, however 4 weeks into the programme she relapsed & disappeared out of town yet again, this time however it was for 18 months with zero contact. During those 18 months she began using heroin as well as crack, but now claims to have given it up since returning to her parents house.

She has only been back in town for 1 week and has already contacted me demanding that she sees the kids on weekends. I initially refused but she is now threatening to take me to court to get full custody unless she gets them on weekends. Her new boyfriend has also got involved, messaging me & threatening to come to my house to take the kids. The thing is her own parents have told me that she is still smoking marijuana every day & is unemployed, plus in the 2 and a half years since she walked out, she has not seen either of the kids once in that time & she has not paid any money or child support whatsoever. Does anyone know my rights in this situation? Should she be allowed to see her kids after all this time?
