I’m going to be 27 in two weeks and I’ve never had success in dating. I don’t have a way to meet guys in person so I’ve only used dating apps. I wasn’t liking my pick of the litter from guys that messaged me first on the apps so I tried bumble. And while guys did reply to my initial messages, things died down at the same rate. I’ve been told I’m cute but can confidently say that I don’t get as much attention as the other female friends I’ve had. My former boss said she met her husband in college. Her husband said hi to her and she didn’t even notice him. He tried again and the rest is history, she is decent looking. I haven’t used the dating apps in a few weeks, I just don’t see how it’s so easy for some women. I really don’t think I come across as desperate, I probably have a hard time showing interest.

27f, I am one of the women that can confidently say that I’m unlucky in love. Unlike other women I’ve known that were approached by men, I have never been approached by a decent guy in person. I’ve been skinny and I’ve been thick and I’ve been fat, my dating life has remained stagnant. The closest I got to a relationship was seeing someone for a few months that was not physically attractive but got women easily (personality?). I’ve been complimented on my looks, I would assume most people at least find me at minimum cute. I’ve been on and off dating apps for years, I decided to try bumble because the guys that messaged me first on dating apps were either weird, players or I just didn’t like back. What is so wrong with me? I don’t want children but I’m at the age where I’m not as desirable, oh wait I was 21 and still ignored by guys. I know my worth and will not settle for the sake of avoiding “loneliness”.

27F, the longest I was with someone was a few months. I have only ever met men on dating apps, I don’t have friends or a social life. I had to use dating apps because men just don’t ever approach me. I know women get approached doing everyday things like groceries, going to the bookstore etc. I’m told I’m cute, even when I was a little skinnier I assumed that would lead to more attention. I get messages on the apps but my reality has been: good looking guys only want casual, the decent looking ones are too short for me and the meh ones have a decent personality but I’m not physically attracted to them. I have tried bumble after years of expecting guys to approach first, I have gotten a good amount of responses recently but it continues to die out early on. I just go through periods where I feel the need to take a step back and test the guys interest. Or periods where I want companionship and for a few weeks, I have no desire to talk to any guy. Some say self sabotage I say it’s a gut instinct knowing it’s doomed to fail.
