This guy messaged me on Hinge a couple days ago and we had a decent back-and-forth going on. He usually responds quickly to my messages in-depth and seems enthusiastic (uses a lot of exclamation points and hahahas). At some point though, it became clear I was taking the lead on the convo, being the one to ask questions and really try to keep it going. He would still seem engaged with whatever I sent him, just wouldn't ask questions back. Twice, he sent me a one-word reply and I would just offer a new topic which he'd seem happy about.
I got a little annoyed about being the one to lead, so at one point I sent a text that you can't really reply more than a "yep" with. He liked my message, responded with a yep and some emojis, but didn't follow-up with anything else. The message he sent had a similar vibe to the one-word replies he gave before, so I'm not sure if he just expects me to continue the conversation.
I can't tell if he's just not great at holding online convos or is uninterested. If he's uninterested, I don't get why he would mostly give me fast, detailed replies to whatever I send. We also matched on Tinder a bit after we started talking on Hinge. Some of my friends suggested he might be better in person and I should just ask him out.
