This guy from theater I’m becoming theater friends with, we have the same sense of humor and in almost every conversation, we laugh hysterically. We also pick on each other by teasing each other with objects and stealing things. I don’t know if he was joking but he pinky promised me that he didn’t drink and then I said “are you going the same way as me” and he said “I am but I’m not following you. I don’t like you that much. We’ll see how it goes maybe someday”. Does he actually not like me that much and thought I liked him or was it just all a joke. What does that joke mean? I’m really bad at reading signals. I also said I don’t have a ride and he said “I can give you a ride. Or anyone else can” so he doesn’t care THAT much? I’m really confused. What if he is just friendly and like that with everyone?

We are in tech week of our theater performance and me and this guy are starting to become really friendly. Every interaction we’ve had through the rehearsals, we constantly laughed together and he laughs at all of my stupid jokes. Jokes that people don’t get. It’s like he gets me and we have the same sense of humor. I want to be friends after the show is over but I can’t tell if he feels the same. He was changing and I asked what took him so long and he said “did you miss me” and joked how I should come watch his college sport game and asked me if I needed a ride home. We are really friendly and we laugh really hard together. He makes intense eye contact and smiles brightly whenever we talk. It just feels right. Natural. Could this be the start of a friendship outside of theater? I don’t want to come off too strong and the show is almost over. He is also my age which makes it better. What if he’s just like that with everyone?

When I was growing up, cartoons or any kid shows always had hidden naughty jokes, dark humor, educational facts, etc.

Is society making the kids dumber now because it seems like these new cartoons are just babyish

I miss the days of Spongebob, Powerpuff Girls, Ed Edd n Eddy, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, etc
