Jasper is 13 years old.

When he was 11, his stepfather used to beat and abuse his mother. Finally, the stepdad left but Kara was pregnant and the baby is deaf. When Milo was born, Jasper noticed his mother was physically weaker, would faint, and constantly needed help around the house. Jasper would wake up at three in the morning hearing Milo cry. Jasper had to change Milo's diapers, feed him, help clean the house, and almost every night Milo had to sleep in bed with him because Kara was physically ill. Since Kara was still weak, Jasper had to be homeschooled and stay at home to help care for Milo as well as potty training him and learning sign language. He lost all of his friends, a chance to play basketball at school, and gained a bunch of weight since he wasn't as physically active anymore. At 13, Jasper couldn't take it anymore. He spanked Milo with a belt until he couldn't walk properly, when his mother wasn't looking he hit, pushed, slammed Milo into walls, and poured ice cold water him when he slept.

Jasper would even pull Milo's hair, lock himin closets, and pulled a knife out on him because he knew that if he scares Milo good enough, he'll be quiet.
