I just absolutely give up looking for a partner. I’ve tried almost every dating app. And am always single. Everyone I’ve known has been able to easily find a partner whether it be through an app or meeting people in person.

I have had “friends” previously that I’d go out with and guys didn’t give me the time of day. I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and regardless of how I look, people don’t notice me. I only get attention from guys that I wouldn’t date and that’s rarely. So that does not count.

Everyone i I know is able to find love without trying and I don’t understand why or how I’m always alone. It’s extremely unfair and I don’t know what else to do. I’m in my mid twenties and even though I’m shy, dating should not be this hard for a young woman. While I do have low self esteem, people have told me throughout my life that I’m attractive and this doesn’t only include family/ “close friends”.

Paid nor free apps work for me. I don’t have friends in real life so I rely on these apps. And people I’ve met are able to find someone without much effort. While here I am alone. I am that woman that is always alone. No friends or partner in my life. I’ve considered losing more weight and wonder if that’ll change the lack of attention I’ve received. What bothers me is someone I used to see for a few months was able to move on to a new girlfriend shortly after I stopped talking to him. I’m not into him anymore, it just bugs me how he is able to move on and find someone likes him while I’m always single. And people told me that I’m more attractive than him/ could do better.

Am i I the unluckiest person ever or is this the way dating usually is for most women? Because I don’t think it is.

I met this guy on a dating site a full year ago. We never had sex and we went on a total of two dates.
(The second date, I went to his place and we smoked weed. I had an edible that ended up being too strong for me and I actually blacked out and had a few panic attacks.
As embarrassing as that was, believe it or not, he was still into me and wanted to see me again.)

Shortly after that, I left the state for my own personal reasons (this had been decided before meeting him), and he made a point to keep in touch with me. I am moving back now and he still texts me and apparently hasn't really been with anyone else (so he says). I would have expected him to move on or start dating someone else and forget all about me but he hasn't.

But what leads me to believe that he just wants me for sex is that, during the span of my absence, the only reason he would text me is to tell me he was thinking about me sexually. There was one time we talked (texted) about politics but it was short-lived because I got distracted. This is pretty much the only time I can remember him being interested in talking about something other than sex. I have asked him about work but he has very little interest in talking about himself. He also never asks about what I'm doing with my life or shows much interest. Mind you, I usually don't text him first, and I know that texting is not a good indicator of human interpersonal interaction, but we've never talked on the phone before due to the casualty of our previous encounters so we never established calling as a precedent. Now he's been texting me asking when I'll be back.

Do you think he has waited all this time for me just to have sex with me? He is a confident guy and probably wouldn't have to try too terribly hard to get another woman. I just can't imagine a guy waiting on a woman for a year whom he had only gone on two dates with, just to have sex with her.
