I just finished reading The Disaster Artist.
Before reading this book I thought Tommy is merely a rich junkie. Now I understand what a disgusting piece of shit he is. No wonder he has no friends when he treats everyone around him so bad. Even the one friend he has (and 2nd lead in The Room) is a miracle. How Greg still keeps his friendship with that Frankenstein is beyond me. I have dumped people for much less.

A couple of trivia about the film itself where he attacked his best "friend" during the production:

1. In the fight scene at 1:25 Tommy was like zombie (probably high as fuck?). He became furious when his friend said "What planet are you on?". Hearing those words set off a long, painful chain of memories in Tommy’s mind and he attacked his friend for real. Seconds later you can see him shouting twice at an extra "SHUT UP!". That was Tommy shouting to this guy because he tried to keep him from beating up Greg, who fell back and hit his head on the door.

2. Scene at 1:08. It is not edited that way but it was one of the last scenes they filmed. While tossing the ball to each other you can see Tommy tackling Greg. That was once again Tommy attacking Greg for real because the latter "dared" to say "Catch this" in French. Tommy didn't want any French words being spoken on camera and didn't want anyone else know that he is foreign even though his English is worse than my grandmother's.

These two examples are only drops in the ocean of how Tommy treats people who care about him.
