Tonight, I went with my friend Kristen to see my other friends, who are in a band, play at a bar/restaurant. Kristen is kinda dating one of the band members, Garret, and I have a crush on the lead vocalist, Jack.

During their performances, Jack would maintain eye contact with me for certain parts of songs for about five to ten seconds, but other times he was too focused on the music and sang his heart out. I really felt like we connected during those times. Jack and I are already good friends and we hang out at school and have lunch together, etc. He's pretty chill when I hang out with him too. But, it was different this time.

Afterwards, Jack would avoid me or distance himself from me. Like, when my other friend Carson was waiting on a funny Snap back from someone, he motioned us over. Jack was literally right next to me when I walked over, and within seconds he disappeared to hang out with his other friend before Carson could even show us anything.

Also, when we were leaving, we all got up to walk and Jack was really close to me, but suddenly just walked far far away and told us thanks for coming. Last time they had a gig and we were leaving, I gave him a side hug. We were so close to hugging again, but his parents were right there soooo...

But Jack and I had literally almost zero verbal communication. It was all in the body language. He seemed like he was avoiding me and I don't know why. I'm positive he doesn't know I like him, so what could it be? What did I do? Why was he so awkward? It so out of character for him...

A while ago, our teacher told my classmate, "You have no knowledge!" after not being satisfied with my classmate's opinion about identity.

This is a background story about what happened. My classmate told our teacher that he believes identity is molded by the individual. However, he told this in his native language because he still couldn't fully express himself in English, so I volunteered to help him translate his thoughts into English.

Our teacher refuted. She believed God "issues" our respective identities and that no human is perfect without a deity spearheading journeys.

My classmate disagreed, so I kept translating until my classmate repeated a word I just said in English, nodding in agreement to indicate I've gotten his point across.

My teacher immediately told him that he "has no knowledge" for "stealing" my words from my mouth. This really offended him because he did not expect that coming from a teacher. I felt appalled as well because the thoughts weren't even from me; they were from my classmate.

Now, my classmate is too shy to report and I want to take action. Would it be better to report this or leave it untold? Should I report this?

Do guys ever get too scared to ask their crush about their hobbies and stuff and have an actual conversation with her? Do they just end up coming across as uninterested and have only have small talk and basic convo with the girl they actually want to get to know better?
