we met when he had girlfriend and when something happened between us we just stopped talking and he wound up telling her and breaking up, even though they had been together 8 years. we have been seeing each other on and off since then. long off periods, like months at a time, and he is always the one that gets back in touch with me and i'm the one that leaves the situation. at least this happened twice now. I have just ended it now because even though we get along extremely well, I have really strong feelings for him and we have an amazing time together he is not ready to be serious. I try to compromise and he gets freaked out, but still listens and wants to try when I don't put pressure on him. When I do put pressure on him, he gets really upset. he says he doesn't want to look back at his youth and feel like he "missed" anything ( we are 24). I asked if that meant hooking up with random girls and he said no of course not. he has told me he could fall for me, when I asked him. He has looked at me before and in the dreamiest way ever said "you are just so, so beautiful" and touched my face, didn't try to kiss me. I never feel pressured to have sex with him, he doesn't hide me from his friends, if anything he likes them knowing who I am I think. He comes to events that are important to me, tells me I'm smart, and always picks me up and takes me home. but I broke it off over a month ago and blocked it, I want to call him and fix it but it seems so obvious we can't do a "casual" thing and we need some "boundaries" I just don't know how to talk to him in a way that doesn't make him feel pressured into something.

I ended it because I wanted more, but a while after he starts calling a lot, I ignore it, but finally answer. We start seeing eachother again and it is going really well, he seem somewhat distant, but is always so happy to see me, and I love the way he looks at me, right in the eyes. We talk about a lot together, and have both met eachothers closest friends. we do haves sex, but I feel like I am usually the one who initiates the kissing, and if I back away he assures me we don't have to have sex, almost every time he assures me of that. He still seems to not be ready for a serious relationship though, even though he has admitted caring for me and missing me deeply (he said that was why he called so much) I told him I want more, and he said he felt pressured, but he could see himself with me, it's just that he had been in what I know to be a very emotionally draining relationship. It still makes me feel like he thinks I'm not good enough or something. Whenever we hangout though, he always wants to do what I want to do, Always pays for dinners, picks me up and takes me home, etc. I just don't want to be that girl that gets played. Will he become ready to be serious if I take the pressure off?

If it gets to the point where one of them feels strongly about it and wants marriage but their bf/gf is either not into it, not ready or simply doesn't feel the same way and refused to marry them... who would take it harder and be hurt more (if it were a loving long-term relationship)? A gf or a bf?

I've heard of lots of stories about the gfs that were ready after several years and when their men wasn't into it, then it hurt them. After a while, the girl breaks up and is truly hurt over it.

But vice-versa did happened too. One of my female friends declined a proposal ages ago and the relationship didn't ever recover from it, they broke up after a very short time and they haven't been on speaking terms since even though he already has a gf. She was surprised that he didn't even want her as a friend since he was her best friend before dating.

Lets say your 24 and you meet this girl she's 21and pretty as can be. She's beautiful on the inside and out, everything you've been looking for. You guys have been dating for 2 months now. Things are starting to get serious, your really into her and she really into you. Then she lets you know she's a virgin, and that her goal is to wait until marriage but if she truly feel like she ready then she'll give it up.

My question to the guys are: (and pleas answer all)
Are you mad she waited so long to tell you?
Would you have preferred her tell you sooner?
When should she have told you?

I broke up with my ex quite a while ago (5 months) and we were together for 1.5 years, .5 long distance as i moved to another country.

A couple of months ago i suddenly got close with one of his friends - i didn't expect it to happen at all, and i didn't do it to create drama with my ex at all. My ex's friend (let's call him Y) has never had a girlfriend, i've known him for 1-2 years, and he's really serious when it comes to choosing who he wants to start a relationship with.

We got seriously close and Y started snapchatting me all day, skyping with me for up to 2 hours, and showing me that he cared, telling me that he missed me (and then calling me). Things were going pretty well - i felt the same way.

That was until Y suddenly told me that he wanted to distance himself from me because he was "confused" and "didn't want to create problems with my ex and wasn't ready for a long distance relationship". He said sorry because he didn't want to lead me on, and that this was his fault. On the other hand, he also said that he's "never felt this way with a girl" and that "he's never been this comfortable with a girl he's close with" (i even asked him in comparison to a girl he used to like and he said it was nothing like what we had right now)

A few days later i asked him how he felt, and he said that "i like you as a friend, but not a girlfriend. i'm sorry" and we began to talk less, but we managed to make plans for when i get back for Christmas (he promised me he'd take me out wherever i wanted and that he'd teach me how to play the ukulele)

Does Y like me or not? Also, what should I do in your opinion?
I've never felt this way about a guy... It's been two months and i still can't get him out of my mind...
