11 Lazy Girl Beauty Hacks

1) Dry Shampoo

Love sleeping in? Who doesn’t. If you’re a girl with long hair, thick hair, or any hair at all for that matter, you need to add dry shampoo into your routine. Dry shampoo is like a shower in a bottle (for your hair). A few spritzes at the roots will refresh your hair, make it smell great, and even add a really cool texturizing effect. Watch this video for a quick how-to tutorial.

Of course, this shouldn’t take the place of hair washing all together, but this is a great way to extend your blowout a day or two. So, go ahead and hit the snooze button a few times – with all the time you’ll save skipping blow drying and styling, you can afford to catch a few more zzz’s.

2) Baby Wipes

You’re in bed, all cozied up, and so ready to drift off to sleep – but WAIT… you forgot to take off your makeup! You know that going to sleep with your makeup on is a guaranteed way to wake up with a breakout, so you’re forced to get out of bed and wash your face, right? Wrong.

Simply stash a pack of baby wipes in your nightstand, and wipe your face clean from the comfort of your own bed. You may need to use a few to wipe away the day’s dirt, grime, and leftover eyeliner, but you can fall asleep knowing that you’ll be pimple-free in the morning.

Note: This method isn’t as rejuvenating as a regular face washing routine, so only revert to this method in extreme circumstances – like, if you’re REALLY snuggly, and the floor is just too cold for your feet. We’ve all been there, no judgment.

3) Band-Aids & White Out

We know, we know – these two items sound totally insane, right? Well, as crazy as it may sound, these two items can take your at-home manicures from drab to fab.

White Out

Use white out to craft the perfect French manicure (the perfect look to complement every fashion trend). Simply use a piece of scotch tape to cover the base of your nail, and use a white out pen to coat the tip. Repeat the process on every nail, and allow the white out to dry completely before removing the tape. Apply a coat of clear nail polish over the top to finish the look – voila!

Band-Aids

Grab a pair of scissors and a handful of Band-Aids, and start cutting. After applying a base coat in the polish color of your choice and allowing it to dry completely, cover each of your nails with the porous side of a Band-Aid and paint over the top with a contrasting polish color. The end result? A perfectly polka-dotted manicure that looks professionally done.

4) W3 – The Contouring Secret

We totally get it, girls - using bronzer, blush, or powder to contour your face is not easy. To keep you from developing the dreaded “orange” look all over your face, we’ve got a couple of tricks that will make the contouring process so much easier. You’re welcome.

Make a “3”

Using your bronzer and bronzer brush, start applying at your temples, then swoosh down to your cheekbones, then swoosh down again to your jawline. Repeat this process a few times until the desired shade is achieved.

Make a “W”

For this trick, you’ll be using your blush and blush brush. Start by applying the makeup at the apple of your cheek, then swoosh over to the tip of your nose, then swoosh over to the opposite cheek. Repeat this process a few times until the desired shade is achieved.

5) Toothbrushes

News flash: They’re no longer just for brushing your teeth! Plenty of girls (guys too!) suffer from the pain and grossness of dry lips.

Invest in a second toothbrush, but use it to exfoliate your lips.

When you’re in the shower, rub the toothbrush all over your dry lips to get rid of flaky skin. After exfoliating, seal your lips with chap stick, and go show that special someone just show soft they are.

6) Peppermint Oil

While we’re on the subject of lips, wouldn’t it be nice if your mouth was a bit poutier? Nothing is sexier than a full set of lips – especially when they’re super soft and kissable, but for lots of women, the idea of cosmetic surgery (i.e. Botox) is out of the question.

We’ve got an easier solution, girls: peppermint oil. Simply mix a few drops of peppermint oil into your lip gloss and your lips will plump right up. Bonus: they’ll taste delicious!

7) Moisturizer

Aside from the obvious ways moisturizer works, it also serves another purpose for those irritating moments when you realize you’ve bought the wrong shade of foundation. Rather than trucking it all the way back to the store, add a little bit of moisturizer to your too-dark foundation to lighten the shade.

The secret to success with this beauty hack is to test as you go – add a little moisturizer, then test the shade on your cheek. Still too dark? Add a little more, then test again.

Remember, adding too much moisturizer in the beginning may make the foundation too light - then you’re back to square one.

8) Vaseline

Before spritzing perfume on your wrists, arms, elbows, legs, or wherever, rub Vaseline on the area.

Adding a layer of Vaseline will make the scent of your perfume last longer, and make your skin super-soft.

9) White Eye Shadow

Feeling tired? Hungover? Or, just… blah? Well, chances are, if you’re feeling any of these things, your face is showing it.

To get that “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed” look, sweep a layer of white eye shadow under your eyebrow arch, and directly under your lower lash line.

The highlight of white makes eyes appear wider and faces appear brighter. This is the best beauty hack to naturally enhance your beauty without wearing a lot of makeup.

10) Contact Solution

If your mascara has already gone clumpy, and you want to keep using it for a couple more weeks, there’s no need to buy a new tube just yet.

Grab your contact solution and squirt a few drops into the tube. Use the brush to mix the solution with the mascara – that’s all it takes!

11) Two Pillows

Rather than sleeping with only one pillow under your head at night, opt for two. The elevation of your head and neck drastically reduces puffiness, which makes faces appear thinner and skin appear fresher - something not even the most expensive makeup can do!
