Sorry, I've got a question for this topic though. (Answer to your question: Anything is alright to me as long as their nails are clean. I personally like manicures, and what I do to mine though. :) )

I have real nails. Clean, smooth, shiny, not too long, but not short and I push the cuticles back. I paint them with clear polish but sometimes I paint white tips on the ends too, to make them look like a french manicure. It looks better than an actual french manicure, costs next to nothing, and is healthier for your nails. My question is, do you guys think this sounds better than an actual french manicure? Or should I just stick to just clear polish and forget the white? My natural nail is a bit transparent due to being pregnant. And what about toe nails? I do the same to them.

I love getting my nails done with a french manicure. I just feel way more confident and I think my fingers look longer and my hands look prettier.

It could probably all be in my head, and the only consequence is on my wallet. But hey, if I feel better about myself why not?

I don't really care what guys think about my nails. I keep them maintained for myself.

I think most guys don't care that much, as long as your nails are clean and not all raggedy. Some do notice a nice manicure but, put it this way, most would not kick you out of bed if you had a french manicure and they preferred short black painted nails...

Thats true, but if a girl doesn't have her nails painted or her toes at all I kind of get turned off. I like the girly thing it gives off.

Most guys could care less, but some guys definitely really like certain little details. I had a boyfriend who was very picky about feet and liked me to have pedicures. I would say once you are in a relationship or married, guys start to not like the time it takes girls to keep up with manicures and pedicures and the money spent on them, lol.

Ewwwwww you girls really missing the point when it comes to nails, it's the only thing that you do and you think it turns us on when it's really disgusting! you know what is? long nails and painted with whatever it was, or even worse fake nails YAAAACK! please do yourself a favor and start thinking 2010 because we're not in the 80's anymore, and instead pay more attention to being clean, clear, pure, fresh, healthy as much as you can and last but not least be real not fake! stop copying what others do, please, be your own self.

Thanks for sticking up for me, I usually change my nails to suit my mood and or style that day, and I was simply seeing if anyone else had particular feelings towards how a girl wears her nails? I don't do them to please men I do it to please myself so if they don't like it it is theyre tough luck. I was simply curious.

Yes, we paint our nails because we want to. The whole 'disgusting and makes you vomit' cavewoman thing, that's your opinion. Some girls don't like it when guys have beards but they keep them because they like it and think it looks cool! Most of us girls don't go around saying "Oh, those men with horrible facial hair... When I kiss them I want to throw up. It makes me feel like they're a caveman preying on a dinosaur!"

You're still 17, you still don't know exactly what a man should look like, beards are natural and masculine, it's not "fake" or "coloured" or painted neon polish or anything of that gross stuff! and a short beard or a stubble is not bad for hygiene, while long disgusting nails are a threat, if you don't clean them then we'll find all kinds of microbic bacteria underneath EWWW and then again, long drawing-attention nails are a feature of prostitution and are never classy, only trashy and yack.

And one little fact should be added here, having such nails that intentionally draw attention would mean to some guys that you're physically not that active, we'd know at the first sight that you spend more time on your nails than doing any kind of sports, and basically so many sports can't be practiced when you have such an obstacle such as stupid nails, it can even show you don't cook or clean clothes or do anything useful in this life, just think about what this means!

Ha ha ha ha,i think that alst comment is a joke, I cook(better than all I know), clean, yoga, pilates, cycle, swim, and have long painted. always manicured nails. It doenst mean we can do nothing else it means we care baout ourselves and spend time on ourselves!

They don't need to be insanely long, but I prefer decent sized nails. Not having knifes on your fingers by any means, and I really don't like the fake ones.

Mainly as long as there's gunk under them then most guys really won't care much I don't think.

Length is meaningless, color is meaningless, and style is meaningless. What I mean is, as long as they are your OWN nails, and not some polymer press-on contraptions, I have no problem with them. Just as long as they are presentable. Press-ons are unnatractive to me, because I view them as a sign of insecurity... It should not matter how long your nails are.

I like your answer. I didn't think any guy really cared what a girls nails look like as long as their clean. I don't pay much attention to mine. just clean them and sometimes paint them but I like them better with out all that. Nails are just there if you ask me, their not important

i love short colorful nails, and I always do weird little details on them. the guys I dated liked it they thought it was creative. I also dated a guy who liked when I had fake pink nails, because they reminded him of "movie stars" but I don't really care either way ha ha I do what I want.

I love manicured nails on girls and I notice them!

My fist choice is a French manicure because it is very feminine and classy.

Second is a bright colour. Lately I've seen some green/blue that looks good.

Last, but not least: clean, neat nails with clear polish.

I like them to be at the length where she can scratch my back when she's getting pleasure...if you catch my drift, but I don't think they should be long enough that when one chips she flips out and goes crazy. Or the length of her nails make her prissy. But almost every guy is a little different.

guys don't really care that much. don't do your nails for guys because its probably the last thing they're worried about. your nails should be an expression of what YOU like

I think French manicures are the sexiest thing a woman can do with her nails. but the tip can only be a quarter inch long of so any longer and it gets a little freaky.
painted red or black look good. Also the fake ones that the girl can get and go home to paint them look nice in certain ways, I saw one girl who always does a different design and she did all white with multicolored polk-a-dots and I was just like :) :D <3

Honestly nails aren't something I ever pay attention to at all. If they're done up in a way that does call attention to them, that's never a good thing.

I prefer natural nails that have been clipped, polished, and kept clean. The best nails are the ones that are never brought to my attention. "I got my nails done. What do you think?" I think, "God, this question again?"

Medium to longer length. Fake or real I don't care either way but I love them done. Def French or polished. Cool wise not big on brights but I love reds, pinks, neutrals and silvers.

Slightly long, bright primary colour - specifically red, is my personal preference. French manicure is sexy as well. Avoid fakes or half-arsed attempts at colour maintenance
