So I've had my cat since the day he was born and he just turned 8. He's been more than a friend for all these years and I can't imagine losing him, but he's getting old and he won't be here forever. So I'm thinking about going to my local animal shelter and adopting a healthy and fertile female cat to breed with my cat so I can keep the litter and I can still somewhat have my best friend even after he's gone. But would that be OK or cruel? The new cat will be another member of the household and I will keep her as long as she lives.

Also, before you say "he's only 8", my cat is inbred and it's a miracle that he's lived this long, and a lot of his siblings including his brother from the same litter has died.
