My best friend and his girlfriend have been together for about 5 years, living together in a house he owns for one. My boyfriend and I have been together 2.5 years and living together for over a year and a half. We've owned a house together for about 6 months.

BFF is a year younger than me and his girlfriend is 27. She's got a year left of school before she hopefully lands a job as a high school teacher.

It's very likely that we will end up getting engaged and planning weddings in and around the same time. We will also have a lot of overlap when it comes to guest lists...

My boyfriend and I want to have a destination wedding, since my whole family will have to travel anyways, and neither of us has any interest in the planning aspect of having a wedding. Also, friends on both sides all like the idea.

BFF and his girlfriend have been leaning toward destination wedding too. But, since we have so many overlapping guests, we don't want to make people travel twice in a short amount of time, or have to choose one over the other. We've talked a few times about basically doubling up on the destination - so, we get married during the same week at the same resort, that way overlapping guests can do both and only travel once.

My boyfriend is totally down with the idea, and BFF brought it up to his girlfriend the other day and she thinks it makes sense if we would end up having them within a year of each other.

I love the idea, but I hope she isn't just being nice about it, because I'd totally get it if she'd rather not share the spotlight. Personally, both myself and my boyfriend would be 100% ok with not being the centre of attention all week. We'd each get our own special day, probably having the two weddings a couple days apart.

What do you guys think? Would you ever consider doing something like that?
