I want to clarify that when I say "feminine" and "masculine", I am referring to the behaviors society labels and associates with each. For example a "feminine" man would be someone that is more sensitive, expressive, sassy, etc.

The reason I am asking this question is because of two reasons. You don't need to read them to answer the question, but feel free to do so if you like:
1. I've been described as masculine by a lot of my friends. And it isn't because I dress differently or am a tomboy by any means, but because they claim I'm not as expressive, I don't use a lot of "feminine" gestures when I'm talking, I'm guarded, I am not the nurturing or domestic type, I'm a bit individualistic, I can sometimes put my career over other things, I don't know the right things to say to make a person feel better-- I'm more of a "fixer", I prefer to be in control and dominate, be the one to pay on dates, often have a hard time apologizing or telling someone how I really feel because of my pride, see vulnerability as a sign of weakness, etc.
2. Almost all the guys that are attracted to me (and vice versa) end up being more "feminine". The last guy I dated was overly sensitive. He would constantly need me to assure him that I cared about him. He was very expressive... hand gestures, sassy/fiesty, constantly wanted me to talk to him... all of it. When we argued, he was the one who would force me to talk it out and I was the one who would shut down. He got jealous very quickly and was very posessive. He would get very emotional and sentimental about small things, etc. He was the nurturing and domestic type. He said he preffered to cook and clean and wouldn't mind a woman who could bring in the money. He wasn't afraid to cry openly. Also, a lot of people used to tell me they thought he was gay simply because of these traits that society labels as feminine.

Is this just a coincidence or do others on here have similar experiences?

Hey guys! I haven't asked a question in a while and I have looked through the questions and read some articles on behavior on shy guys etc...

you don't have to comment if you please do the poll for some insight. I will try to be brief here.

We are both shy, although he seems more so at least with females. We have been friends for a while although more in person and not internet or phone. He's a face to face person. Anyways. I found myself falling for him but with our friendship and my shyness and confusion over if he liked me or was even attracted I couldn't tell him in person. It was done through a friend. He didn't really say anything to her and I made it clear with my feelings I couldn't do friends and he was welcome to contact me if he wished. I saw him at a party and he did smile and acknowledge me but he didn't speak to me although I did catch him glancing at me more than I have before. I think he's tried to flirt before. He would be touchy sometimes and look into my eyes and make sure I knew I had his full attention.

He also knows I value honesty and wouldn't lie.
So my question is. Regardless of how he actually feels. Should I expect him to contact me? Send a message? Or he won't either way? Its been about oh... Ten days... I also haven't seen him, although I made sure of that. He doesn't come to my part of town, I usually go over to his to see him, his family and other friends. I just haven't as I need to get over him if its not gonna happen. I'm too emotionally involved and don't want a broken heart.
