Search Results: should i make a move or wait

OK so a month ago, I went to a sort of classy party and there was this guy who knows a friend (but not close friend) of mine. They've known each other for quite some time.

Anyway the guy only spoke to me once, at one point he came up, pointed me out and asked if I found his friend handsome to which I just didn't reply (yes I know it was a mistake)

ever since I've been thinking about him. My friend gave me his name and his fb profile. At first she kept saying how cool of a guy he was, then she said I should just give up on the idea. He asked her to introduce him to some of her friends (after the party) but she seemed kind of bothered by this. I told her to arrange sth so we could all meet. I know she finds him sexy but she already has a boyfriend.

Now that it's been month, I really want to know if I stand a chance or not, and have been thinking about adding him on fb. BUT

1) he's over 30 and i don't know how guy this age react to being "chased"
2) I have been the one to make the first move and most of the time I then find myself to be the initiator all along which I don't like at all.
3) I don't want to come off as desperate
4) I wouldn't really know what to say...

Besides we're bot heart of a somewhat small community so I don't want to give a bad image.

So what should i do? Should I pressure my friend to organize sth (she said she would just wait for him to do sth) ? or should I go ahead and do it on my own?

When we first started dating all he talked about was he was in this relationship to get married not date around. He asked me if I wanted to move in together. He said he changed his mind about not wanting to have kids. He said that when you meet the right person you know. Don't know when it happened but his conversation started to change. It wasn't moving in together it was him buying a house for his parents who he lives with. It wasn't that he wanted me to pursue the career path that I've chosen now he wanted me to make more money and not get help from my parents. He wants me to get an apartment near where he lives. I would be more financially capable if I had a roommate however he doesn't want me to have a roommate nor does he want to move in with me. Then two days ago my younger sister who's been dating her boyfriend for the exact same amount of time and who only see him on the weekends is engaged. I wanted to be happy but I felt so upset. How can her boyfriend propose to her when she relies on my parents and yet my boyfriend tells me he's not interested in getting married till I can pay my own rent. We had an argument. It left me feeling cold. He kept saying that he loved me but if I didn't think that this was the relationship that I wanted then maybe I should find someone else. He said that the only reason why he's not broken up with me is because I'm the nicest person he knows and the only one who excepts his busy schedule without complaint. he doesn't want to feel pressured. I'm starting to feel like me paying my own rent sounds like excuses for a man that doesn't see himself with me. They're things that I want in life. Im scared that if i stay we will be dating another 2 or 3 years or more and I wil still be living alone and waited to long to have a family. At this point I feel like our relationship isn't going anywhere. He works the same hours 7 days a week. He's not changed.
