I am new to dating and have only had one girlfriend. A girl at work gave me the signals to approach as well as obvious signs of a crush. I had also developed a crush at the same time. I waited to make sure I wasn't imagining things and I basically walked up and introduced myself and told her I would like to take her out for some drinks to get to know her better. She rejected me with the boyfriend line so I said "okay well nice meeting you anyway".
I was also somewhat nervous when making this interaction but tried my best, she was very nervous as well and that nervous energy carried over to me. I'm thinking she is shy and was offended I didn't get to know her more? Or did my nervousness turn her off? I was given some bad advice I think because someone told me it'd be okay to just directly ask her to get a drink. Is it wrong to be this direct?
Now when she sees me she seems angry at me and other times when i walk past she will look down and smile. Some times I will still catch her looking and other times she seems angry. What is going on here? Should I just move on? Any help is appreciated.
