--- SUMMERTIME ---

Last summer I dated this girl, who I knew for two years, for two weeks straight. Seeing each other daily.

But she had already planned a trip with another guy after those two weeks. I overlooked it because they planned it before deciding to start dating each other.

Nevertheless, before leaving, she told me that she would rather want to have an open relationship. I replied that I didn't see those kinds of relationships as natural or healthy.

This was different from what she told me two weeks before, where she said that she no longer saw open relationships as good.

--- THE RETURN ---

When she returned back from the trip she told me that she was sorry but that, at that stage of her life, she didn't want to have the kind of relationship I was pursuing to have.

I told her that was the only kind of relationship I was willing to have, including "friendship", although I would be okay being in good terms with her in case we saw each other by chance in our daily lives. After that we stopped meeting each other.

--- THE INSTAGRAM ---

Since that moment she has kept posting suspicious things on her social media. Things like "you shall not let others limit what your heart wants" or that "love always prevail over the barriers of fear". I suspect she is referring to me, but I did nothing about it for a long time.

But the last thing she posted I found specially disgusting. Basically it was a trip that she asked us to do, but now with another guy. Her post says:

"A month and a half away, walking without letting fictitious borders clip our wings. Walking without problems, traveling and living the adventures that our hearts awaited. That fear has no power over love! Free yourself from mental limitations, from the conditioning of the environment and be you! Follow your heart, now is the time 💚 "

--- WHAT? ---

Is she doing this on purpose to trigger me? Am I overreacting? How shall I interpret such situation?

Just like the question entails I feel like people put so much faith in the president that when their expectations are let down it suddenly the presidents fault.

I’m not even just talking about Biden or Trump; because the same situations happen with every single presidency, and sometimes it works out and other times it doesn’t.

For example for Trump his following was almost cult like to such an extreme that a siege of the capital happened. In the Obama administration his following was the same with everyone who followed hanging on every single word.

Like wold anyone else agree that we put so much faith in our presidents position that it often dwarfs the reality that the president has only a very few select governmental powers, and whoever the president is at any given time will only be able to do so much?

I mean really what the fuck do we expect of one person, with limited capabilities, and the reality that their are other powers at play beyond the president that go hand-in-hand with either making things awesome or making things terrible?

Also would anyone agree that Americans at this point have kind of become like sheep just looking for somebody to either be the herder or the wolf, and or the Angel or the devil?

It’s tiring honestly to see so many people swayed one way or the other by one human being who has a very limited amount of power no matter how great the power may be.
The problem being people sways so hard to the point where we cause each other physical, mental, social pain and disparity in the sake of proving our point, and or preaching for one side or the other. Furthermore we do all that instead of just doing the research, and looking up credible, realistic, reasonable source material.

It’s like we want ignorance whether it’s in the positive or the negative to be what drives us instead of common sense, and basic research.
