We dated for 1 and a half years so obviously he's the longest relationship

he's the first guy I've introduced to my family formally (parents and brothers)
Im the only girl he's introduced to his family as well
We've been on few road trips together
He came to my graduation
He used to always post pictures of us on his social media
He called me everyday after to check up on me
He told me he loves me everyday
We would see each other often (3 or 4 times a week) and very intimate
But then he broke it off a month ago because we argued constantly and so he thought we werent compatible
We still remain "friends"
We still hang out to movies and dinner together after break up every 2 weeks (he initiates)
He took me out to go watch a movie and dinner and bought me bouquet of roses on valentines day
He initiates contact every week
Does it seem like we were in love?
I dont know if I was in love with him?
I still do have strong feelings for him though

Im confused about this
So me and my ex boyfriend broke up a month ago
But we decided to remain "friends"
I went out with him to the movies last night
He bought the tickets and I bought the snacks (we always do this even when we were still together as a couple)
He was very playful in the cinema - we watched horror movie so he would tease me everytime I jumped or screamed and he would talk to me at times during the movie
After the movie, we went to the supermarket because he wanted to get food to cook at home the next day
I bought few things as well for myself
Then we were in the queue and he said "put your things with mine, ill pay for yours too"
isn't this what couples do? Not friends?
He used to do that when we were still together
After that, he was going to drop me home but i told him to drop me off at my friends place
So he dropped me off there
And then he asked "whos going to drop you home?"
And i said "my friend drives so she will drop me home"
And then he said "ok"
Then today he texted me "did u get home safe?"
And i replied "yeh i did"
Why would he text me this?
He knows my friend already
Does this mean he genuinely cares about me?
If he didn't have romantic feelings for me anymore, would he still do these things?

But we didn't remove each other on social media
A week later he messaged me a long text to apologize about the break up and all
I replied so we are on good terms
He asked me out to movie and dinner on valentines day and even bought me a bouquet of flowers but told me we still can't be together right now and want to be friends
Ever since that day, he has been messaging me more often tho
Last week he called me just to ask how im going , how my work is going , if im going on dates , my weekend plans , etc
But he's usually messaging me about his day , what happened in his day , about his career plans , his course , whats he's doing , etc
He messages me when he's at work , on his lunch break and on weekends
he's always the one initiating contact
I've never reached out to him first since the break up
He send me long texts but i respond with 2 or 3 sentences at most
But i still would hear from him every week
Do you guys think he still has romantic feelings for me or just wants to be friends/being friendly?

So there's this guy, and we were dating for a couple of months but kind of decided it wasn’t really going anywhere romantically (tbh he wasn’t really ready for the bf/gf thing cuz he had just gotten out of a relationship when we got together) plus he didn’t really treat me the way you would a girlfriend respect wise. We were basically just really good friends throughout this “relationship” because he was never really affectionate and we didn’t go out much. But We enjoy each others company, we play video games, watch movies, eat good food etc. and yes we have sex.
When we broke up I wasn’t really heart broken because I expected it to happen. And he said we can still hang out and stuff and even have sex. The sex part was what through me off because I've never done a friends with benefits and kind of always viewed sex as a sacred thing you do with someone you love (which i already broke because i dont love him in that way)
I guess I was just trying to force something that wasn’t there and dont want to be viewed as “trashy” but I also like the idea of being friends because i just wanna focus on school and not date seriously till I graduate. So what should I do? Explain why.
