Search Results: give him the confidence to ask me out

I'll ask the question here and give personal details further down.

I've gotten the impression that guys are expected to be strong and confident. Girls for example seem to like strong guys. I don't feel strong so I'm curious:
Does being depressed and thinking of suicide make me weak?
If so, does that affect whether people could respect or love me?

I won't go into too much detail but basically ever since I was young, I was a bit of a loner. I've never had many friends and things like self esteem and confidence have always been issues. I was good at school but had no social life and I've never had a girlfriend (I'm 21). I've had a few issues with bullying and I was never capable of REALLY standing up for myself. Also, motivation is a big problem for me and I find it hard to be ambitious as a result of my low self esteem.

I met this girl a few months ago. She was really flirty for a while, but she's cooling off at the moment. She used to have physical contact, and we'd go for drinks - just the two of us - and she'd text me with "x" all the time. There's a tonne of other signs as well.

All this time she kept talking about her boyfriend, only she'd never say nice things about him. It was always these little things he'd done or did which really annoyed her, and that she'd "never forgiven him" for some of the things. She never sounded happy to talk about him, anyway.

Well I already have anxiety, and it's hard enough for me to judge when a girl likes me because I have confidence issues. Add a boyfriend into the mix and I kinda gave up the ghost.

Anyway, she's been a bit cold with me recently. I don't really know why, but I think perhaps this has something to do with the fact that I wasn't making advances.

So should I just come out and ask her if she likes me? If she doesn't, do you think she'll be offended?
