Dated a new girl briefly. When my high school friend found out she was furious! She swore never to talk to me again. And she didn't. For 10 years.

I reached out to her best friend to find out how to make amends. I had never met her before. Her best friend joked that her friend could get emotional. We laughed it off. Next thing you know, we meet, there is an intense connection, she asks my friend if we can date. The friend agrees. And we date for 6 months. We are both in different colleges and it is long distance. I then move out of state so we break up. A year later we rekindle things, but I am away on business. It is long distance. Then after a near sex experience (I had never lost my virginity)... she dumps me.

10 years later, the friend is my coworker. We rekindle our friendship. My presumption is that she tells my ex girlfriend (her best friend still) details of me and what is new in my life. I admitted to my high school friend that I was coming to terms with being sexually abused as a kid at the time that I dated her best friend (my ex). I wrote a short fiction story. It was selected for a public reading at a bar. I invite my high school friend (now coworker) to come.
