Me and my current girlfriend have been dating in a steadily relationship going on for about a year. Our relationship started as a rebound both of us, literally we both met on Tinder. But we both come to care for each other and we made it work our personalities and behavior melds well together and we've only had two disagreements both times neither of us raised our voices.

But to some up my problem shortly, we have very different politics and different life goals. We literally spent the entire year purposely not getting onto the conversation of politics because we knew that were so extremely different from each other.

Some examples is that she wants to adopt kids while I want to actually have my own (at least one), I've actually given adopting some serious thought and I like the idea but I would still at least like to have one of my own kids. She's also a Progressive, kind of socialist, and anti-capitalist while I am a capitalist and independent. So you can imagine the wide variety of topics that we disagree on. There are other things too.

We finally did touch on our political differences sometime last week and she said something that made me want to get up and walk out on her. Of course, I didn't because I'm not petty but what she said really did hurt me. I felt like she didn't even have any respect for my opinion, her attitude was "I'm right you're wrong" without even having the full conversation, let alone actually getting into a real debate.

Let me reiterate that this is NOT meant to be a political question so please no political debates about either of our alignments. What I'm asking is that if you have extremely different core values can a long-term relationship work? Especially if one of you doesn't even wish to be open-minded enough to have the debate. To be completely honest I'm not sure if I could raise a family in the future by tiptoeing around certain values and beliefs.

To be honest I'm very conflicted.

In China some parents are unofficially adopting and raising a female child. They do this so when their son is old enough, he will have a girlfriend/wife. Men outnumber women in China and there will be at least 30 million men that will never have a relationship or a wife. The Chinese parents that do this usually get a daughter the same age as their son, and their son and the girl grow up together in the same home. Then they become boyfriend+girlfriend and marry.

The entire world is becoming difficult for many guys to find a good girl. Why do you think violent crimes, mass shootings are increasing in occurrence? Why do you think men are dropping out of society and dating?

It's because when guys don't have a girl in their life, many times they decide to do the very minimum necessary to survive, and then just have fun alone with the rest of their time (movies, fitness, outdoors, travel, adult movies, or video games).

So if the leaders of the world decided to universally allow parents to do what Chinese parents are doing, would you do you what the Chinese parents are doing so you can ensure your son will have a girlfriend in his teen years and then marry her, and she will be a virgin for him so he will get that extra boost of pride that comes from being a girl's first? Why or why not?
