50yo award-winning French author, writer, director and presenter, Yann Moix, has stirred up great controversy in a recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, in which he stated he'd be "incapable of loving a woman aged 50 or above", since they were "too old. I prefer younger women's bodies, that's all. End of. The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary. The body of a woman of 50 is not extraordinary at all."

The comments have sparked an angry backlash on social media. Most notably, predictably enough, hundreds of women over 50 have been taking to social media and posting naked images of themselves to "show off their body confidence in protest". Including journalist Colombe Schneck, who posted (then later deleted) a photograph of her bottom with the caption: "Voila, the buttocks of a woman aged 52…what an imbecile you are, you don't know what you're missing..."

His Marie Claire interview also drew criticism for statements he made regarding his preference for dating Asian women - which he specified as "Koreans, Chinese and Japanese" in particular. "It's perhaps sad and reductive for the women I go out with but the Asian type is sufficiently rich, large and infinite for me not to be ashamed," he told the magazine.

Responding to the outrage, he's stood firm, telling RTL radio, he was not "responsible" for his taste in women. "I like who I like and I don't have to answer to the court of taste," he said, before joking he probably was not the best catch either. "50-year-old women do not see me either!" he told the station. "They have something else to do than to get around a neurotic who writes and reads all day long. It's not easy to be with me."

So, what's your take on Moix's remarks about his preferences for women, and on the social media reaction to them?

To be clear, I’m not talking about intersex or gender identity, I'm talking about true biological hermaphrodites. Fully functional male+female reproductive abilities, you can get pregnant & you can impregnate others. In terms of what the average person would look like (body/facial hair, muscle/fat distribution) and how 2 sets of genitals would... work, I'll leave that up to your imagination. Keep in mind though, if everybody can have kids, they'll probably need a way to feed them.

This has been on my mind for a while, I'm wondering what people think the society, culture, and basic interactions would be like. Compared to our world, do you think this hypothetical world would be better? I can think of a few reasons why/why not.

Pros:
Best of both worlds - you get both parts, 2 types of orgasms, you wouldn't be missing out on anything. You could live whatever life you want. You want to take care of kids, you want to do hard labor, work in fashion design, get a PhD? You want to go out and seduce people into your own personal harem? No gender roles hold you back, go out and do it.
Twice the dating pool - no sex preferences, any crush could be 2-sided.
Gender Equality - no sexism, we could discriminate against people for other things.

Cons:
Overpopulation - everybody can get pregnant, birthrates could potentially go way up.
Plenty of people are happy the way they are - don’t fix what isn’t broken, right?
Worst of both worlds - can't have the good without the bad, everyone would have to worry about periods, awkward boners, and pressure to live up to various expectations. But also more serious issues like genital mutilation or sexual assault.

I’ve heard people say as a con that nobody would be unique, but keep in mind, people would still have different personalities, beliefs, etc. It wouldn’t mean the end of individuality.
All in all, it wouldn't be a utopia by any means, but I think that world would be better, what about you?
