Soooo after this corona bullshit is over im finally gonna be able to go to my part time job.. i plan to buy a car and get my license and once i do that i will be going to a community college to get certified in something so i can make enough money to rent a 1 bedroom apartment. i want to get a degree in computer programming but thatll take two years to complete and i want to move out by at least 19 and with all the requirements and shit to get an apartment if i did my associates now id porbably wouldn't move out till like 21/22 and i feel like i won't be able to really be independent and start my life if im still living with my parents (which Im sure planted a camera in my room amd bugged my phone) in my musty room... and the certification for a secretary is only a year and makes an average of 35,000 so imma do that but I don't know which one i should get certified in. some things about me are i am kind of interested in politics so i am leaning towards that but if i did medical my mom is in a high position in that community so i could probably have an easier time getting a job but then with the general secretary, itd probably simpler to just get that one. its not like im planning to make this my future its just something temporary till i can get into information technology so thats a reason that option looks good... so yeah i need help

Hey, so me and my boyfriend have been dating for 4 months. We are both 20 years old in college. I am a USA citizen and he's not; He's from mexico and he crossed here illegally. 4 days ago he asked me if I can marry him. I saw it coming but I didn't know it was going to be anytime soon!!! I want to save him from getting deported but I'm not ready for a relationship. He tells me he doesn't want to pressure me and its not my fault if I say no. He's a sweet, respectful, humble man but we haven't been dating that long. He told me it was hard to bring it up because he didn't want to seem like he was using me for the green card. I'm also going to the military soon. I asked him about the pros and cons and he told me there isn't really cons into marrying him, its only just pros. I'm afraid to tell my parents about this but they know he's not a usa citizen. What should I do? Please don't judge us. What if I get married to him will I be responsible for him?

I’m a bio major & i don’t have a car & depend on my student refund checks & scholarships for money.. I asked someone to Help me pay my credit card bill (Not all at once) because i maxed it out at 2K getting clothes for schl, dorm supplies, Lyfts (which gets DUMB EXpensive), food, getting my hair done, toiletries, cleaning supplies, printing, washing my clothes ( it’s not free on campus) etc. after 4 months i maxed it out because i wasn’t working.. and they told me that i should be more financially independent.. I thought that was weird because if i was already financially independent i wouldn’t be a Junior Trying to get a bachelor of science degree so that i can get accepted into graduated schl so i can become a Doctor.. what do you think? Cause no other 20 yr old at my university is financially independent and my parents obviously don’t send me money because they’re poor.. Other wise i wouldn’t have used my credit card so muchX 😭😭😭 I tried working & being in schl for a little while but i was EXHAUSTED 😕. What do you guys think?

As a child, my parents used to pressure me into getting good grades and graduating from college. That mission has been accomplished but it wasn't enough in life.

My father used to tell me ''graduate from college, get your degree and you have the world on your feet, you can have anything you want''. It was a nice attempt but afterwards, I felt emotionally and socially stunt. Till the age of 29 (I'm now 32), I couldn't even cook a simple meal. I had to learn some things from google and youtube.

This is what I had to learn later on:
A college degree isn't everything. You can still lack skills and be unprepared for the real world out there even with your degree.
