I'm in high school and I don't really know what women want yet, it'd be nice to get some advice from women in high school, considering millenials are a lot different from the ones in the 90's. Some women in my school tell me to go first when I hold the door. Am I doing something wrong, should I stop? Is this considered 'sexist' nowadays? Note; I'm a freshman but I always put my age at 18+ because I don't like how I'm still considered a child even though I'd like to say I think and act like a young adult, at the least.

I went on a date this week and a woman was telling me that she didn't like a previous date she was on because the man insisted on paying for her dinner, walking to her car, and opened the car door for her. She was a liberal feminist. She was saying, "Why would I need someone to walk me to my car? What is the point? I can do it on my own. That is so patriarchal! A man doing that is sexist!"

I went home that night and got a text message from my best friend who is a woman. She was telling me, "I am tickled pink when a guy wants to walk me to my car and be a total gentleman. i can take care of myself, but I love it when a guy goes to do those little things. It draws out my feminine side... I feel like I can relax because I'm looked out for... He puts his arm around you when he sees other guys checking out his girl, opens doors, carries things that are super heavy."

I am a man who is a feminist. I am TRULY trying to understand women and respect what they want. But how am I supposed to be a good man when women give two completely different visions of what a good man is?

Why is it that when you date a feminist she treats you with hostility for walking her to her car as if you are a misogynist pig and she represents what women think? We as men are just trying to please women yet we face vitriol for doing so!

Why is it that the modern feminist woman acts high and mighty as if she as a feminist owns the truth about what women want? Could it be that by treating women who have different views as "backward", they are therefore disrespecting their own gender in a hypocritical way?

I'm an 18 year old high school senior... and around my school, it's no secret that I'm a loner with little to no friends. Ever since freshman year, I've been eating lunch all by myself every single day, and no one really talks to me except for a casual friend with a "hey" or "sup" every once in a while.

Trust me, it's not as bad as it sounds. Part of it is because I'm bad at social interaction, but the other part is because I genuinely prefer to be alone. However, even someone who prefers to be alone needs at least some social interaction. Having no one to interact with but the thoughts of your mind can get quite lonely at times throughout a 7 hour day.

However, no one really ever noted it. It's always been an "I mind my own business, they mind their own business" type of thing.

However, in my AP Statistics class there's this girl I have a crush on. For starters, she's extremely pretty. Then getting less superficial, she's a really nice and polite person, and is nice to conversate with. Then into the side things, she's extremely smart, has taken 4 AP classes her freshman year, and 7 all her other years, including her current senior year. Not only that, but she owned them, and got A's and 4's and 5's on all the exams. She's also very involved with the school, being in several clubs and sports. She says that there was no secret to all this, just time management, responsibility, getting started right away, and hard work. She says AP classes and exams aren't that hard.

She's among-st one of the literal smartest people in the school, and lots of people admire her.

She's also really nice to me in specific, smiling and holding the door often, and the other day, she very sweetly told me, "I don't know if you just like to be alone, or if you're having trouble finding a friend, or if it's something else that's more personal, but feel free to talk to me anytime!"

I couldn't believe that she of all people had said that to me.
