Search Results: taking pictures in the mirror

I've liked a guy since Oct and the following points are what's going on between us at the moment. This guy was my friend from elementary to middle so we have history. When we started high school, we never saw eachother again until our last year of HS when by chance we ran into eachother taking the SATs. Since its senior year, I decided as a personal goal for myself to reach out to friends more so when I got home I sent him a FB friend request. He immediately accepted and that's how we began speaking again (I texted him first). Turns out we both have a lot in common and that's how I started to like him.
The problem is we've been speaking since Oct and I'm fairly certain it obvious to him that I like him but we haven't hung out yet. It also feels like I'm the one doing most of the work. Also I don't think the timing is right for us to date because were leaving for college soon and he's for sure leaving NYC while I plan on staying. Should I just not bother trying to get into a relationship with him and just remain friends? I really like him but I also don't want to mess up the friendship we already have. -I always initiate our conversations (every few days since we're both pretty busy- usually every 5 days)
-He always responds and asks open ended questions
-We talk about our future plans a lot and about stuff that goes on in our lives (problems, school, our hobbies)
-He trusts me with pictures (he's a freelancing photographer so He doesn't send his pics around cause others can claim it as their own)
-He recently started calling me "fam" and I recently started calling him "bro" (did we friendzoned eachother?)
-When we first started talking it took him hours to reply but he always apologized with an explaination
-Recently he began replying within an hour or less
-I think he mirrors the time it takes me to reply
-Since we pretty much speak when we're both free (so early in the morning during commutes or late at night before bed) one of us ends the convo with a goodnight (half of the time it's him and half is me)

I honestly much prefer my face in the mirror rather than the camera. I have a really hard time taking pictures. And sometimes when someone says, "you look so nice in that picture", and I think god no! NOT in that picture! Do I really look like that in real life?

And sometimes I really like my face with little or without makeup but then when I proceed to take a picture my eyes look dull as hell? But not in real life?
