Search Results: hard to get or dead end

That's been my parents' response to any plans or ambitions I've ever had to be successful in any aspect of my life, since I was still in single figures. Everything I've ever done to try and proved them wrong has ended in failure; I've built myself back up from nothing, with no support from anyone or anything, time and time again, only for factors beyond my control to tear it away from me every time, and them to tell me patronizingly to never mind, since I was never going to succeed anyway, seeing as how much of a failure I am, and how I should just accept that I'll never amount to anything like they've always told me I would. Are they right? Do you agree with them? I've been trying so hard, for so long. I've already got grey hair, I'm borderline anorexic because I don't need to spend money on food when I could be investing it instead, I don't have any friends or any semblance of a social life, let alone a love life, because I don't have any spare time, effort or money left for them, or for any entertainment, fun and amusement in my life. I'm getting aneurysms on a daily basis and epileptic seizures from the stress, but I can't let up, have to keep trying harder and harder and harder and harder, because I still haven't gotten anywhere meaningful with anything. I can't try any harder without literally dropping dead, but it still feels like I'm not getting anywhere, not making any progress. Are they right, when they tell me that "if I was ever going to get anywhere, I'd have already got there"? Does the fact that I'm not already successful in life prove that I haven't got what it takes to be successful, prove that I never will be? Should I just give up, on everything?

Tough hard question. I know but run through this scenario for me.

You have this girl in high school, complete bitch right? Constantly torments this other girl in school through multiple degrading, and torturous ordeals and for one reason or another can't tell anyone about it.

Eventually she's pushed to the point that she takes her own life, and her tormentors laughs about it knowing full well she likely pushed her to suicide.

Filled with anger and despair, the dead girls father/brother/boyfriend basically any guy significant In her life, abducted the bully, and rapes and tortures her for days on end in the most brutal ways he can imagine before finally turning himself in to the police. And I must point out that the girl that got raped is alive albeit just shy of death.

Now once again I must reiterate the question is not whether the man who did the deed was justified in doing so, obviously not.

Rather the question is knowing all this, would there be any sympathy for the girl that got raped?
