Luftmadchen ("Air Maiden") is a usually cold, efficient, deadly, dedicated member of a cult calling themselves the Straggele, also pejoratively dubbed the "Church of Krampus" by critics.

This cult takes over northern Greenland, and believes its sleep-half-the-year Marlquaanite wizard-vampire king, Adolphus Kraus, is the avatar of the Austrian demon Krampus. But that he seeks to tame his nature on all but the month of December, becoming a mostly-benevolent dictator.

To feed the leader, his elites, dubbed "the Horrorday Gang," go out every December around the world - to feast on targets that won't be missed. While doing mostly benevolent things for the world the rest of the year.

Take away the mask, and a broken, damaged woman lies beneath: Annabelle Shelly. She wasn't always the air traffic control for Nordreichdun (Dark Kingdom of the North.)

Before some missionaries reach her on her deathbed, the only thing powerful enough to shake her loyalty to Krampus, is hearing word that her mother and aunt are still alive.
