Absolutely LOVED the graphics and I even cried at certain points. The graphics were very well done and the plot was just as good. I highly recommend"
Yep. It's a very bad film. Even for its time, the CGI was awful - more like video game quality than a real movie. The creature design was uninspired, with the main characters landing slap bang in the middle of "the uncanny valley".
It's completely ridden with cliches, and the plot is an absolutely blatant rip-off of "Dune", and for that matter, "Ferngully: The Last Rainforest" as well - it's literally identical. White guy arrives at a planet with a hostile environment but some valuable resource that the outsiders want; The greedy corporation he works for sees the locals as uncivilised barbarians (played by non-white actors, obviously), but they are actually deeply spiritual and living in perfect harmony with nature and their environment; He falls in love with the chief's daughter who makes him see the error of his ways, and teaches him their way of life; He leads an uprising against the greedy corporation; There's a big fight and he rides the planet's scariest indigenous animal into battle, for a final showdown with the main baddy; The evil corporation are driven away, and everyone lives happily ever after.
Even the soundtrack, by the great James Horner, was just really annoying.

Absolutely loved Ferngully!

I saw it a couple of years ago, and thought it was really good. It kind of reminds me of Dances With Wolves, where a soldier goes out to the frontier, but gets caught up in the life of the Native Americans, and becomes one of them.
It’s promoting America’s military-industrial complex mentality. It’s grooming young people to become numb with violence from entertainment rather than develop a conscience. It’s to groom young people for war in real life. It was created by major film studios that cowered down to America’s military-industrial complex. So, it’s nothing but mainstream media propaganda to me. These Hollywood sellouts are awful.
You do realize the military industrial complex are the baddies in Avatar, with the eco hippies being the good guys? You sound a bit like one of those critics who panned Starship Troopers (an infinitely better movie) when it first came out, because they thought it glamorized militarism, nationalism, fascism and the MIC, when anyone with a brain could see it was clearly satirizing them.
Big fan! It was a little too long for my seat to be sitting but it holds your attention every time. So well done! I am excited for the new one coming out next year.
i enjoy it but its just stupid a the same time like the plot is the guy betrays his wole species just to clap alien cheeks (if they have te gear to transfer him in another body they can surely make him walk gain so that isn't a reason)

No rain here in Colorado. We hardly get any rain in my city because of the mountains. But when I was in Florida for vacation it rained almost everyday.
Lighting and thunder storms were nonstop. Completely terrifying
I thought it was a really well done movie and I saw it when it was first in theaters for one of my best friend birthday party on the fence about number 2

I've watched Avatar countless times, it has always been and still is one of my absolute favorites. The new world, the story, the culture, the flora & fauna; it's an incredible film. Can't wait for the next one

I figured since they were making a second one, I would at least watch the first to see why it was one of the number one movies in world alongside the Titanic.
I love it and there is something that resonates with me in regards to First Nations people and connection to land. I’m really looking forward to the sequel

That part was my favorite!
The connection to the land and all the creatures around them is just amazing. Then it's so typical for Americans to move in and attempt to take what's not theirs for enrichment purposes. It made me so angry.
Some drive in movie theaters show older movies, if you have any by you maybe you could make a suggestion. I know in Florida some of them just play old movies since drive inns are so rare now
