My last girlfriend (R. I. P.) was, by any objective measures, not a cute girl. She certainly was not ugly but she would never win any beauty pageants. Despite my initial lack of instant attraction, I liked her personality and I continued dating her. Somewhere along the way - I don't know if she did something with her hair, maybe she changed her makeup - something happened to her appearance. She became cute and I got turned on just looking at her. I desired her physically and I had no need to "fake" being attracted to her. After we broke up, the magic spell lifted and I again saw her as an unattractive woman. Funny how that worked!

Have you ever had that experience: falling in love changed your perception of your partner's physical desirability?

My parents and siblings still try to tell me that "Oh, you're so handsome!" But the best that I've gotten from friends has been "Oh, don't worry, doesn't matter what you look like on the outside so long as you're nice on the inside", and pretty much every girl I've ever approached tells me that "Eeugh, you're so ugly!", or looks at me in a way that shows that they clearly see me as being ugly.

I'm 30yo now, and I've still never had a single girl look at me in a way that gave any hint that she found me the slightest bit attractive- never been kissed, never been touched, never had a girlfriend. Even so, I still try to approach girls; but I have no confidence left in my own appearance, and I've now come to expect instant rejection from any girl who I try and approach, no matter what I say, what I say or how I act.

I'm 30yo now, still perpetually single, still yet to have my first relationship. And I'm seriously thinking that I'll never be able to find any girl who'll give me a chance, because I'm just not attractive enough. What do you think? How do I look in your eyes? And do you think that I'll ever find a girl who can bring herself to feel any attraction towards a guy who looks like I do? Thanks to anyone who votes, and I'd appreciate any comments a lot.
