This site is about HUMAN interactions and PEOPLE sharing opinions, not machines using AI to formulate nonsense with ZERO human thought or emotion behind it. Personally I find it offensive.

So, my question is, does anyone actually think the AI bots are a positive addition here at GAG?

for the most I think this site tends to recognize that men are extremely diverse in terms of their backgrounds, beliefs, opinions, attractions, tastes and many other points of view

me and many other users here seem to recognize there are men of all different walks of life on here even though many of us still do tend to generalize men as a whole in certain aspects

that being said, I'm told repeatedly not to generalize women because women are also extremely diverse with their points of view

fine. no problem

yet whenever a woman here posts an opinion that is different to the opinions of other women in a drastic way especially an opinion that seems to be "against her own gender" (assuming it is), she is accused of being a fake pink account or a pick-me-girl or accused of having internalized misogyny etc.

seems to me women aren't really allowed to have different opinions that "goes against their own gender" but "generalizations" are wrong apparently

this doesn't seem to be a male problem and even if there are women pretending to be fake blue accounts, no one questions them because we recognize the diversity in men but not women?

so which is it then? be consistent

generalizations are wrong and women can have differing opinions without being accused of being pick-me-girls/fake pink accounts?

or

generalizations are right and women shouldn't have opinions that differ from whatever the sisterhood insists is the right opinion?

I posted a look question of the most atttactive guy in my university. I’m straight but even I look at this guy in admiration! He’s a very handsome dude.

There are two types of long distance relationships:

1. When you meet, you live near each other, you begin a relationship, and then circumstances lead one of you to move away far enough that you can't see each other on a weekly basis. I am NOT asking about this type of LDR.

2. The second type is where you meet online, exchange texts, emails, phone calls, and clearly establish some romantic interest in each other. THIS is what I am asking about.

I have had the second type. I met a user on this site, who I will not name due to my respect for her. She is a beautiful lady who lives in Brazil, about 3,500 miles from my hometown. We talked, but not frequently, as she was somewhat shy, but we texted more frequently. I would have flown to Brazil to meet her, but this happened in 2020 - covid times. It became obvious that the international travel ban would not soon be lifted and there were some other factors that made me less hopeful about a future with her. We ended the regular communications and I have only heard from her sporadically since then.

I have a theory that shy people sometimes seek long distance relationships because they have an internal conflict: part of them wants to be in a relationship and part of them wants to run away from the idea. By finding a LDR, you can tell yourself that you are in a relationship without facing the prospect of actually meeting and dealing with all of the anxiety associated with that. But, of course, LDRs rarely materialize into real long term relationships. For most people, they are just a form of temporary "pretend" relationships.
