27f, I am one of the women that can confidently say that I’m unlucky in love. Unlike other women I’ve known that were approached by men, I have never been approached by a decent guy in person. I’ve been skinny and I’ve been thick and I’ve been fat, my dating life has remained stagnant. The closest I got to a relationship was seeing someone for a few months that was not physically attractive but got women easily (personality?). I’ve been complimented on my looks, I would assume most people at least find me at minimum cute. I’ve been on and off dating apps for years, I decided to try bumble because the guys that messaged me first on dating apps were either weird, players or I just didn’t like back. What is so wrong with me? I don’t want children but I’m at the age where I’m not as desirable, oh wait I was 21 and still ignored by guys. I know my worth and will not settle for the sake of avoiding “loneliness”.

I’m not terrible looking, maybe cute? This is feedback I’ve gotten outside of family and friends. And I’m this old, with really no success with using the dating apps. I’ve tried paid and not paid, all leading to absolute frustration. I’m trying bumble now, maybe my 3rd time, I usually delete it after 2-3 days. The account I have atm has been active for about a week, so far, maybe 2 guys didn’t reply to my intro message but the others have. BUT, the convo dies out very soon or they ghost that early on. I’ve been on and off other dating apps for years, my mother pretty much said that dating apps work and she thinks she would have success with them (she already has) because she makes the first move in messaging the guy. Hello, isn’t that what I’m doing and still chronically single? Something about guys on the other dating apps seem questionable, they’re all: players, crazy or normal but just not my type.

Anyone else feel like dating apps are all about hook ups?
