As far as my knowledge goes with dating one currently, I'm very happy about it! Lots of co-op games we play together, encouraging one another on those single player games and just having a good time with laughter and using cooperative skills!

Would you want to date a video gamer? 😊

I'm not interested in dating, but if I was, it would heavily depend on how involved with it he was. I dated two, and while one was not an issue, the other was literally addicted to them. He was constantly glued to them every time they were near him (commonly spent about 12 hours per day on them), it was like pulling teeth to get him off of them even if it meant we were going to be late somewhere, and they interfered with his relationships (including family) and responsibilities, as well as his life in general (he got a very late start to life due to wasting years on the games and not putting any effort towards building a future). Having a pastime is great, but it's never good to let it control your life and get in the way of other, more important things. I have things I love and am passionate about to, but there is a time and a place for those things.

He'd also ignore everyone's phone calls and texts, and ignore people who were right there with him. I remember feeling very hurt when he would get short with me for just wanting to talk to him (and he would get even more hateful with his own family), and even rolled his eyes at me when I was hurting one night over the loss of a pet (now, it pisses me off and I deeply regret not at the very least giving him a piece of my mind and leaving), all because I was interrupting his game. It was like a giant middle finger to my face as far as I was concerned, and I felt so unloved. I'm ashamed I put up with that crap for a second.

The second kept it as a pastime and there was never an issue. I definitely don't mind guys enjoying games, but would not want to deal with someone with an addiction to it again (same with an addiction to anything, really).

I do know this much: I refuse to date a non-gamer, or a guy that doesn't like video games. I tried before? It didn't end well (he thought me playing video games was stupid)

I can see why you'd want to date a video gamer if it's one of your main passions and hobbies in life! To date someone who's not interested in that, is like asking for an eternal mightmare!

Funny story- I once met a guy that got upset I refused to heal him and I only wanted to be a dps-

He preferred dainty, feminine women and wanted someone he could protect- in a video game. He didn't like I played melee classes.

Funny side story though, a few years back... had a co-worker who loved WoW who married a guy who loved it, they had a bunch of kids... whole family gaming constantly. I don't know how they managed to have like six kids when they were always gaming. Anyhow she got fired for calling in sick for raids.

Don't let any hobby become an addiction and your fine and I would have no issue with it.

I've fallen out of love with video games. I just want to be more productive with my life. Over the next few months I'm going to try to figure out how to make more money and really just ditch games altogether. Besides I want to spend all my time with my honey experiencing new things in life. Video games imho just hold us back from progress

I am currently but I'm not a gamer though. I find it cute how into it he gets, he and his buddy have a long standing Friday night gaming session and he's taking a week off work in March when a game is released lol it's a big deal.
I really don't mind, he has fun and sometimes I play with him at his request (haha, not a pretty sight I assure you 🙃)

Love video games boyfriend and I play together all the time a PVP eachover in GTA, Red Dead Online, minecraft, play together on fortnite Apex or against play together in started and maybe Bloodborne and talk if we are not in a server together or in the same game

This is like watching movies, or any other leisure time. It depends on how much time you put on it.

I like gaming from time to time. But, for example, daily it would be too much for me. I simply have more interesting things to do that could improve my life for real.

The last guy i dated was one. It wasn't a problem for me. He still always made time for me, his family, he worked full time, and always had a lot of chores. A truly busy guy but somehow still managed to spend a lot of time playing video games lol, i admired him a lot.

Yeah if that's his hobby that's fine. As long as he's not playing them 24/7 and makes time for me then I'm not concerned about what he does during his free time as long as it isn't something illegal or something horrible like murdering kittens

I don't play video games but I've dated guys who play video games. And it's honestly great lmao they usually spend weekend playing video games instead of partying so I don't have to worry about other bitches hitting on my man when I'm not there 😂

I'd date a gamer If he's not addicted, I love videogames too, so I'd be happy to play and make jokes with him, but if he cannot leave his PS4 (for example), it would be a bad partner for me. Yeah, I like to play and to learn about my partners, but we can't spend the whole day burning our eyes in front of the screen of your PS4 which is about to explode because of overuse.

If I met a woman who is a gamer? Sure, it'd be interesting seeing as I make custom maps, mods, and models for games I play. Not to mention I've been dabbling in Unreal Engine 4 attempting to make my own games. Does that make me a gamer?

I can’t imagine why someone would have a problem dating a video gamer. As long as they take care of their responsibilities first I don’t see anything wrong with it. Everyone has things they like to do in their free time
