Girls, is buying jewelry for her on our first Christmas together inappropriate?

Years ago I started dating a girl in July and for Christmas I got her a gold necklace and an mp3 player. When she opened the package with the necklace I could tell she was a little uncomfortable, she basically said, "oh, that's nice" and set it aside. When she opened the mp3 player her eyes lit up and I got laid every night for a month! When we talked about she said the mp3 player was something she wanted and it made her feel good that I actually listened when she left hints and a necklace is a little to extravagant this early in a relationship. I've been seeing a new girl since Aug and don't wanna make the same mistake but was thinking maybe a pair of earings I am pretty sure she would like and a upright mixer she really wants. Should I do both or skip the earings?

If she has a lot of jewelry. She'd probably like it. If it was within her style. But definitely shouldn't be an expensive one.

But jewelry is like clothing. It's highly subjective to personal taste. Some women just love jewelry and will take whatever they can get. Other's are picky or don't really care for it. They last thing they want is to feel obligated to wear something they hate.

If I'm not sure what a woman wants. I think of her decor and interests. Then find a small antique which fits in with everything. Usually they love it.

I'm not big on buying something she could just buy at any store herself. Unless she actually mentions something she wants or needs but doesn't have. Just don't buy her a vacuum cleaner. Well, unless she really wants one. Then get her a refurbished Kirby off eBay. As those suckers last forever, are easy to repair and do an insanely good job.

She likes jewelry but like you said, she likes antique jewelry. She has some from her grandmother and mother. So, yeah, I wouldn't have a clue so I'm skipping the earings. I know she wants the upright mixer, which are EXPENSIVE, I would have never guessed. But I'd like to get her something personal also. I'll think of something. lol

Get a Kitchenaid Professional series. Something like the 600/6000/6500. You want something which can power through dense mixtures. Which can overheat lesser mixers.

I got mine refurbished off eBay. It was way cheaper and looked like new. I made quite a bit of bread with it. So, it takes a beating.

I never thought of eBay. The ones I was looking at were anywhere from 300-700. I'll pay 300, 350. Thanks.

Yep, eBay sucks for electronics. But can be insane for used and refurbished high quality mid size appliances. Usually if a countertop kitchen appliance is sold used and looks good. Means the person probably just used it a couple times. Then let it sit for years before finally dumping it.

Definitely the mixer thing, but if you feel like getting her the earrings you believe she’d love get them. For me, anything that my man would of bought for me, he had to have had me in his mind. So any gift would be special to me. I’m going to make sure he knows I appreciate him and his gifts. Some men wouldn’t buy anything

Maybe for now. Sounds like either she was uncomfortable the first go or not interested in jewelry. Some girls just aren't into jewelry or have a vary specific style they like.

I am one of those that likes certain things. Not the easiest to buy for girls. If she is really excited about something (mixer), I have a feeling you do much better with that.

If you don't think that is enough, buy something that goes along with it! 😊
