Are the range of crimes that can fit beneath a 1-year sentence (misdemeanor) or a multi-year sentence (felony) adequate to communicate the severity of the crime to interested parties like employers, insurers, landlords, etc?

Should a level of charge that is say 30 or 60 days be created?

Should I level of charge that is say 1 to 5 or 6 to 10 years be created?

Should misdemeanors have an expiration date where they are dropped completely from official records? Only recorded as a misdemeanor with no obligation to disclose what it was?

Many stakeholders in the criminal justice system have advocated that felonies be categorized into violent or nonviolent with the intent being that a non-violent felonies do not need to be disclosed to employers unless it is absolutely germane to the job (like applying for an accountant if you've been convicted of tax evasion)?

Gun owners have advocated for the same in order that non-violent felons can keep their guns.

Do you have any thoughts about when minors are charged with MAJOR crimes and how that should be handled? Family court? Sealed records? Psychiatric incarceration? Lower the age or give DA more discretion to charge kids as adults?

School Enrollment: Hispanics represented 24% of K-12 enrollments in the U. S. during the 2011-12 school year.

College Enrollment: The percentage of Hispanics enrolling in college has increased, with 45% having some college experience by 2022.

Religion: A significant portion of the Hispanic population identifies as Catholic, although there is a growing number of Protestants and those with no religious affiliation.

As of 2022, approximately 43% of Hispanic adults in the US identify as Catholic, a decline from 67% in 2010. The decline is more pronounced among younger generations, with many converting to Protestantism or becoming religiously unaffiliated. Hispanic Catholics constitute about 40% of all Catholics in the US.

Employment: They are highly represented in sectors like farming, fishing, and forestry (43%), building and grounds cleaning (37.9%), and construction (35.7%)

Projected Growth: Hispanics are expected to account for 78% of net new workers between 2020 and 2030.

"I saw a slogan on a guy’s car that said “Proud to be an American.” And I thought, well, what the fuck does that mean? Proud to be an American. You see, I’ve never understood national pride. I’ve never understood ethnic pride. Because I’m Irish, and all four of my grandparents were born in Ireland, so I’m fully Irish. A Trump supporter is projecting a Trump sign on the local water tower. The democrat governor has rented several spotlights to drown out this image. The spotlights run on gasoline and there are two DPW workers on site that are getting overtime pay. The person that is responsible is doing it from his own property and the water tower is public property. Is the governor denying the homeowner's First Amendment rights?

There is nothing preventing somebody from projecting a Harris sign on the tower.

This may seem redundant after my last question on a similar topic, but the DOJ is now suing another police department, this time in South Bend IN stating that physical fitness standards are sexist and math tests are racist for police officers. Thoughts?

no matter what side you support, I find it weird when there’s these little kids at political rallies and stuff like that. Clearly their parents are planting ideas in their head and I think you should at least wait until they’re old enough and able to make up their minds on their own.
