My husband and I were married a year and a half ago and I never had the chance to have a bachelorette or bridal shower or anything of the sort… our pictures came out pretty bad from the wedding (our photographer was young and didn’t seem to realize that all the angles from below are not flattering to most people over 12)… We didn’t celebrate being engaged, and only received congrats from his side of the family while mine… fought the idea of me being married the whole time… We barely had a reception because of Covid… And while my husband had a bachelor party I wasn’t able to have a bachelorette because he was severely ill with Covid for the month leading up to our wedding and I was running on empty taking care of him… I don’t regret marrying him, but I realize I didn’t really have a single thought about the wedding in general beforehand… I wasn’t really sure what was going to happen, didn’t know what my hubby wanted for decorations that we pieced together the night before and day of, and I didn’t really do anything like special to get ready for the day… working in retail, I’ve seen a dozen bridesmaids come through with decor for bridal showers and bachelorette parties and stuff and moms and daughters looking at decorations in target and I just… I didn’t have that… my mum wanted pretty much nothing to do with the wedding, didn’t approve of me getting married, and only helped me pick out my wedding dress which ended up giving me a major bruise on my side and I only wore it for like 4 hours…. Idk… it was supposed to be some special day with lots of lead up and anticipation but… it was kinda meh and I just felt totally run down the whole time leading up (as I was in the middle of grad school). I guess… I just wish I had decided to plan and do a bachelorette or bridal shower and had a bond that encouraged my mum to actually want to be involved in the wedding…. is having regrets like this bad?

Its basically where the dining tables are in the same room as the wedding ceremony. I haven't thought about this idea since like HS lol. I’m still pretty set on both in separate places (but same property). Yet I admit, having them in the same area is more cost effective. I think its only tacky depending on the place arrangements. “Option A” turned out beautiful. I like the idea of no building at all and only a tent/tables and chuppah.

and why? When I meant private is just invite a few people, your closest friends and family and do not even announce it to everyone as a wedding is a personal thing and you want something discreet and when I say public you like to announce it everywhere and everyone even posting the news on social media and tell it to everyone and possibly do not want to have a small wedding if you can afford it.

Another thing related to this topic. What do you think of those brides who post in photosevery momento of their wedding day and post it on social media from the momento she wakes up that day to the mometn the reception ends. For instance the bride and groom hires a photographer and they want to capture every detail and second of that day in potos, so the photographer takes hundres and hundreds of pics because she takes pics of every move the bride or groom makes that day, from buttoning a shirt, to the bride putting her dress on, to the smile she made in a room, even the photographer takes a pic of the bride and groom family, sitting on the room, getting their hair done when the ladies put their make up on, I mean every action and situation tht happens that day , the photographer capture it and the bride days later post it on the social media.

Similar to these pictures. I mean the photographer captured every second and movement of a person.

I mean I know to each their own but do you think it is necessary to do all of that. Just wonder




Guys what do you think of this if you were the groom? I mean I find this idea of taking pictures of everything and everyone and doing normal stuff is more an idea coming from a woman, I believe a man is much simpler and may not like the idea of doing that.
