I hate forgetting faces and how quickly it happens.

Some of my examples:
3 years in a row saw a friend that is a girl while traveling - after days with her it only took 2 days to forget her face, when I try to think of memories where I saw her face, I see the side of her head instead.

Another friend that is a girl. Talked a lot and saw each other for 2 days. 2 days later, again, could not remember her face.

Another girl. Saw her for only a few hours, but could not remember her face 2 mornings later.



I have had dreams with 2 of my friends here in them. I saw their faces again. In one I thought “now that I’m seeing her face again I have to remember it”. When I woke up I could not remember her face from the dream.

So what are your experiences? Do you forget people’s faces?

You have this guy friend you've known for ten years. He likes you- he's asked you on dates before but you've always said "no" because you don't want a relationship. But you're close. He comforts you when you struggle- most recently with the loss of a family member, flying to a different state to care for your nephews. You talk and hang out often, sometimes at each others' places. He is always there for you and stops whatever he's doing to help you. He recently bought a house and took a management position at a major company. Your mom likes him. You feel safe around him and trust him with your life.

He recently started dating a girl. He's even introduced you to her. You immediately become jealous and insecure. You call and text your "friend" more often, telling him you "think of him". You buy him things that you know he likes. You drop subtle criticisms about his girlfriend. You invite him over for dinner one evening. He feels something is "off" but you say everything is "fine". Your conversations seem normal and casual. He continues talking about his girlfriend and being excited to meet her family. You're confused. You don't know if you really love him or not.

You can't take it anymore and decide to ghost him. Cold turkey. No contact. Your friend is obviously confused and worried. After a month of ignoring him, he comes to your apartment door. He knocks but you don't answer. It's pouring rain outside. He has keys to your place but he doesn't come inside. He sits down with his back against the door and begins talking as if you're there. He says he loves you; that he always has. He observes you're hurting and he says he's a bad friend for hurting you, but he doesn't know why. He says he will walk out of your life if means you'll be happier, but he at least wanted to say goodbye. He stops talking. You...

Tonight post-shopping, my brother (a preteen) and our mom had a conversation about this thing called the "monkeypox" or "monkey virus." He asked if it was not "kinda racist", and our mom got mad and lectured him that it was an animal and that he basically had no right to call that term "racist" in a really pissed-off situation.

But she also went on to say that "they're not calling a human being a monkey," but rather it is a term made up because the virus was "possibly" founded in monkeys.

Friend B is a girl I’ve been friends with for a very long time and always enjoy spending time with her.

Friend A I met off an online dating site. After a few dates, it just felt like friendship and she said she thinks she just sees me as a friend. So I just told her I’d find it too difficult just being friends with her as I find her attractive and we agreed to leave it there but said to her she can contact me if she has a change of heart in future. Few months later she started interacting with me on instagram and we arranged to meet. Still felt like friendship so I just assume we’re just friends now.

I heard these girls say they like to be friends with pretty people but don’t want them to be prettier than they are. Is it because when they go out all attention will be on their friend if their friends are prettier? So they want to be the same prettiness or a little prettier than their friend group?
