I've seen questions where the topic of approaching women at the gym comes up and a lot of girls say they would be annoyed if a guy tried to talk to her when she's at the gym. I'm not talking about when she's in the middle of a set, but maybe when she's walking around or inbetween sets.

My question is why? What's so bad about a guy getting to know you at the gym? Would you rather a guy approaches you at the bar or club where it's more "accepted"? You know that those guys only want one thing... What's so wrong about a guy at the gym, who is showing that he is more concerned about being healthy than getting wasted at some club. A guy who is looking for a girl that is into fitness, not partying. Why would these girls want to separate themselves from a guy who may sweep her off her feet?

I'll throw a poll on here as well. Would you like to be approached by a guy at the gym?

I was at Planet Fitness yesterday, and near all the dumb bells is a giant mirror up front. I was holding two 30 pound dumb bells and tripped over the bench I was using(I got up after my set, and proceeded to sit down after stretching a bit, THEN tripped) and went face first into the mirror BUT the dumb bells in my hand are what totally smashed and cracked the mirror.

The manager was pissed but was OK that accidents happen, he was mainly pissed that the store's inspection was the next day. Also I got a minor finger cut, and the manager said to me that the lines on the ground between the wall with the mirror and floor are there for a reason.

The next day I called them to apologize again and the manager was calm, but he's making me pay for both mirrors. about 900$!

what do I do? should I pay? is this even worth taking to court for?

also the mirrors are not covered by insurance sadly.

When an attractive guy flirts, it's charming. When an ugly guy flirts, it's creepy.

This seems to be the impressions guys are getting, and it seems to be something the girls actually think, lately. Is it true. Is it that simple?

Do you like a guy who lives a full on country life style, or a guy who seems more comfortable with social events and white collar affairs? How about a guy who is preppy, but enjoys things like camping, fishing, canoeing, hunting, 4 wheeling, and hiking, and he knows how to properly do them because he grew up with them. The only thing is, he enjoys them in moderation.

I was thinking about this today so I would like to hear everyone's opinions. I realized that I'm the type who is usually attracted to opposites. I was looking back and realized I was always into girls who were the studious and honor class taking type. I was the complete opposite of that in high school. I was always the guy who just attended class and would either read a book or put his head down because I was tired from playing video games all night. Unfortunately girls like that were never into guys like me.. lol

I've matured since then but I realized I'm still into people who are my polar opposites. People who are too similar to me whether it be cultural or personality wise are always more buddies than love interests. What do you people think? What are your opinions on the subject?

I was talking to a female acquaintance , and she was telling me about a past crush .. she described him as , tall, broad shoulders, has a nice car, handsome and '' smokes cigarettes''.

This last one caught my attention.. so I wanted to know.. is a guy lighting a smoke in front of you .. or just holding a cigarette in his hand .. make him look more attractive in some way .. or may be appear more mature?

Would a girl would be happier to share an alpha male than to have a beta male all to herself? Other species do this. In a less obvious way, humans already do this too. Some guys get so many girls. Most guys get no girls or very few girls, no matter how many girls they approach. Also, I’ve noticed that even not-very-attractive girls often seem angry/offended if a beta male approaches them. Do you think we give beta males false hope by presenting the idea that every guy will get a girl eventually if he just tries hard enough? I’ve approached so many girls of so many different ‘types’, and I’ve had no success.

I think in a few decades outright polygyny will become the norm. Most guys won’t be able to get a girl (they’ll stay celibate, or resort to prostitution, which will probably be legalized in many areas of the West where it isn’t already legal). And most girls will share an alpha male. I think the sexual revolution, the decline of religion (and its taboos), and other factors since the 1960s have made this inevitable.

Personally though, I don’t think this change is bad. I think most girls feel bitter about settling for a beta male. The fact that most girls are willing to go through so much pain to be with an alpha male, if the opportunity arises, shows that it’s really only taboo that prevents widespread outright polygyny. And most guys feel overwhelmed and embittered by the demands of the dating game, to which they’re just not suited. The only thing stopping outright polygyny at the moment is negativity. Few people make a positive case for monoamory. It’s always a negative case against polyamory. And negativity always loses out in the end.
