-Met a girl on dating site, been texting her for a while

-She wanted to step up the communications and talk on the phone. One time we talked for 4 1/2 hours!

-We have great convos, some awk silences (that she enjoys), and she calls me excited about whatever awesome just happened in her life, and just to talk

-She admitted that she likes me

-She wants to see how things go in person

This is a very good sign but you shouldn't assume that a meeting will be the same as contact online or by phone. It may well end up that way but don't build up expectations too highly. Otherwise a different dynamic may lead you to overreact in disappointment. Hope for the best but be prepared for possible surprises.

Yes. You know that you have a lot to talk about and you can talk freely. More than half the battle in dating is getting to the point where you can talk like that. My hesitation is because we tend to build up an image of the other person before meeting and that image can be wrong when we finally meet. Sometimes this is disappointing. It's then important to put aside that image and get to know them again. The disappointment shouldn't be allowed to block further progress in person.

This is why I don't like online dating its one thing to connect online but it is a whole another story about connecting face to face in real life. I would rather skip the online part and stick to dating face to face.

I'd say no... I have chatted with two guys that I met online, but later met in person, unfortunately, I was physically unattracted to both them. One has really horrible table manners and the other one was pretty creepy.

Yeah, it was completely fine. They were funny and cracked me up. However, meeting them in person was a total turn off. Maybe I just have really bad luck with dating in general. Don't let me experience ruin your chance with someone. You should meet with this person before judging it.

I'm a bit confused, why did you meet up with them if they are unattractive? I'm sure you saw a pict of them before hand right? Didn't you find them attractive?

haha... this is my experience with online dating... I'd say most people put their "best" or "better" pictures online and most of time they aren't as attractive as I thought they'd be.
