+1 yI view God as sacred and the values of the bible as sacred but I do not view most churches as sacred. There is too much human manipulation and error in the process of running a church that I view it purely as a social club or a place where people can network with others.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI struggle with God. I try to go, but sometimes I just want to have nothing to do with church (sometimes God), OR the “fan club.”
IF I am exhausted (a pretty common thing), then I try to catch a service online. Church isn’t always such a great experience for me, and it’s hard to justify going (or even watching) sometimes. But it’s one of the few chances I get to get out of the apartment, but it’s not something I look forward to.
I used to go (sort of get dragged) every Sunday and Wednesday and be in the Bible studies… (because what would the neighbors or friends think if we weren’t seen?) but on my own, as an adult, with my life, it’s been tough to want to get up and go. So… sort of? But not really? Does it count if we’re doing virtual?12 Reply
+1 yI don’t go every Sunday because I have to work on some Sundays… but I sometimes go to a new life church with my mom when I visit on a Sunday and I sometimes attend a baptist church with my friends.

+1 yWaste of a good Sunday. I can pray while mowing the lawn if I felt the guilty itch. The boxwood makes a fine confessional. The neighbors can render judgement through their floodlight camera speaker. I don't feel guilty for this honesty, if I am truly loved and all is forgiven... even for mass murderers and the like. End-perfect-timing-rant. I needed that. Absolved.

I used to when I was with my son and after his growing up years. I raised him in the church and he still goes to this day.
I on the other hand don't go anymore. But I do watch Dr. Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings.07 Reply

+1 yI and my husband do. I help in the nursery on rotation, and he is a greeter on rotation, so we need to be there every other week anyways. We still go on the between weeks to see friends and worship and study in community.

+1 yAn unnecessary and classic activity. I'm against religions, but I think you can go to church every week to pray or do rituals.
However, this can be done at home and spending 1 day there is also a question mark.00 Reply1K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. Doubtful. Information is pervasive. And the more someone reads about abused kids, other bullshit religions and science that debunks the entire bible…less will come.

Actually, some science confirms some biblical passages. For example, I know a biblical archeologist who has excavated sites mentioned in scripture. As far as child abuse, it is most pervasive in schools. Should we close down all schools (and universities, and hospitals, and social services departments, etc.) where children are also abused?
+1 yWe used to but now have stopped since my mom is healing her shoulder.

+1 yI try to. Sometimes things come up that prevent me, but I'll make it almost every week of the year.
00 ReplyYes. And I believe it or not, I’m not being forced to, I’m not “brainwashed”, and I do it to thank God for the blessings He has given me in life.

Apparently the guilt of not going to church brainwashed into their heads. It's for the sake of not going to hell.
