I think life is like a puzzle. You have all these pieces that you try to fit together the best way you can, but find the best course of action is to put them together as best as you can until it's all put together. In saying this, you don't really have as much control over your life as you think. There are many decisions you make in life that will pull you into many different directions where you must choose one to go down. And that decision will lead to more paths and more decisions you will have to make and soforth.
Like for instance, meeting the love of your life. You don't know that this person will be the love of your life at that very moment but when you make the decision to talk to them and befriend them and then become more than friends, you lay a foundation down for so much to happen in your life. Possibly marriage, possibly children. The possibilities are endless. You put down those puzzle pieces so in that way you have some control but it's more like you are going with the flow than you having control over your life.
At least that's the way I see life.
Prob. 70/30
my will power set me to a much better place. By making sound decisions and accepting consequences that helped me get to better places.
one example would be no fault divorce. I refused to go to court because I don’t believe it. It harms kids.
I made the decision to work things out without any financial support.
I chose to make better choices for the better of the kids, society, money, career, health… yes I went against my doctor to take pills. I don’t like pills or prenatal vitamins… kids are fine without these “drugs”
Some call me a rebel… but I see my life being in a good place because of these choices.
now I can go help others if they want help.
I can't give you a percent, or ratio, not in a precise manner
but let's go with 50/50 anyway... and that's because there were a few things beyond "my control" that did affect me in a negative manner, but there were also things happening that were fortunate and helped me a lot, and also out of "my control"
and then of course, there was me... and my choices, my actions, my work... my lack of work, which did play a significant, and perhaps definitive role as well... for good or bad as well
so, all in all... whether it was my mental health as a child, me overcoming such situations as a teen, growing up... and then later, my "adult choices" for college/career/work... and along all of that, the people in my life... I do feel like it really was 50/50 because and it has balanced quite well so far
Oh this is tough. I kept my crossdressing a secret for years and everyone was fine with me ex girlfriends etc. When I started telling people and even going out dressed it all turned nasty. My life and reputation was destroyed. I sometimes wish I kept it a secret
I wouldn't hide anything. Be yourself, and to hell with what anyone else thinks.
I love your attitude Nikki and thank you
@Xdressertiff You can never put that genie back in the box. At least you know who your friends are.
@Nikki1989 Opposite the BRAIN on that scale, you should have a penis instead of a HEART. As a much younger guy, I let my sex drive dictate my behavior. (Not proud of that) I think my life might have taken a different path without the Labidi pulling.
As it turned out, my brain won, and I move here to CA, and dramatically changed my life direction from the better
@Nikki1989 Libido
I haven't tried to control it. Moreso I have glided with it.
A pretty high degree, but I follow my heart much more than my brain
I don't really control anything. But then again I believe free will is an illusion so naturally I'd say that.
100%. I appreciate not everyone is so fortunate.
Not much, I don't have any political, economic, or military power.
Not yet though ;)
@Nikki1989 I have little control over my life
I've never had control of my life. But anytime I did try to control it my decision ultimately lead me down a path of despair.
@Nikki1989 Close to 50/50 but
Mostly I have been but not completly
