People in relationships would tell you "Don't worry, it will sure happen when you least expect it. Just do your own thing and he/she will eventually appear in your life".
So, do you actually believe so? Why or why not?

Trending & News It's half true, but not for the reason you'd expect. I mean, I'm a big believer in "Whatever is meant to happen will happen", but I think it just depends on the person. I had the experience where I said I was done trying just a few days before I met the man I consider my soul mate. But one of my best friends, on the other hand, was literally in the middle of a couple month long, full blown tantrum about needing to find a boyfriend when she met the guy she's now with. So my advice to anyone who's looking for someone is basically...just keep doing whatever works for you. But if you're in the "Focusing on myself, waiting for something to pop up" group, make sure to do things that let you get out there! Go to the gym, take a class, do anything that lets you have the potential to meet people while working on yourself. :)
True story! At least based on my journey in life! The most influential romantic experiences of mine have always happened when I least expected it. There were phases in my life where I was a die hard romantic and I just couldn't seem to find that special connection. Then when I'm minding my own business, not even thinking about a relationship is when the most special romantic experiences just drop into my life.
Sweet :)
Yeah, I personally believe because every time I was looking to find someone or at least I was hoping it never happened, but after I was thinking that I don't care about love anymore and blabla then I met someone. I'm not talking just about love because many other things in my life happened unexpected.
Most of the relationships I had originated from a unique place. I met a girl through a mutual friend, I met a girl in a store, Neighbor, Facebook, etc etc.
In all of the things I learned, You never know when its coming, the best thing to do is always to be aware of your surroundings and the people you see, cause you never know who will be the person to make you feel amazing.
I'm not saying you shouldn't try to look for a relationship but You shouldn't shrug off any opportunity you see to do so, Love is kinda like unexpected breeze, You can truly never see it but when you feel it, You would hope the feeling last forever.
"Love is kinda like unexpected breeze, You can truly never see it but when you feel it, You would hope the feeling last forever. " That's a beautiful thing to say. :)
Thanks =)
Thanks For the BA
Well deserved. :)
I vote 'A' cause there are things that sure exist even if science can't prove it :)
Whether it's someone or something, even when you are not actually following it it's there constantly on the back of your mind even if subconsciously that translates to meditating on it and this energies are intensified towards it. And when you've consciously away from the thought, it's probably like unlike poles attracting each other :)
That does not mean you think about being a billionaire all the time while doing nothing and it's going to happen lol
Ofcourse there are exceptions to both cases :)
I agree with you. :)
Ahhh :D :D

I believe it to a certain point of view. I believe that when you work to make you the best 'you' that you can, you become more confident and confidence leads to attraction. If "your own thing" is holing yourself up in your house and playing video games or watching TV all day - then no, you'll never meet someone.
If "your own thing" is finding a social activity that you enjoy and you have interests that make you an interesting person, then yes, I think someone will come along and find that attractive.
I believe it, but me meeting a girl and me asking her out is another story... for me anyways, I'm shy. Me meeting a girl I find attractive or finds me attractive that I kind of find attractive is so rare, it almost never happens. I was on a trip going around the usa and visiting one of those park we came across, after the tour, I noticed the park ranger girl giving me "the look", checking me out with a smile. Women almost never do that with me and I was out in the middle of no where, compared to all the big cities in the usa with millions, the small town is where I meet a possible future spouse. This kind of thing has happened to me every time. I would go here and there for random things and see or talk to a woman I'm attracted to, then a short time later go to the same college/stores/restaurant and never see her again.
I do meet a woman when I least expect it and it might go somewhere if I actually asked her out that second, LOL!
I looked up some of the girls on Facebook I knew my age to find out they were all married. Heck even one of them that I thought liked me got married no more than a year or so after the last time I saw her. Another random girl I knew, from the time I quit my job, dog got sick, went on a vacation and came back home, she got married and had 2 kids, she's like 10 years younger than me.
Well I guess it depends on how you interpret it. If taken completely literally, then no, it's obviously not true. If you stay in your comfort zone and rarely meet new people then it's not unlikely you'll never find someone. You need to actually meet people.
However, the wisdom behind these sayings is more that falling in love isn't really something you can force. You don't have that kind of control. There's no point in trying to look for the "right person" because that won't work. You will meet someone "when you least expect it" in the sense that it won't happen by choice. It's something that happens to you.
I know people who've actually had this happen.
That being said, I think you actually have to have an active life where you go places to meet someone at all. So "your own thing" can't be sitting at home watching Netflix and reading ... which has been my problem this winter! ;)
I totally agree! I met my ex boyfriend this way. We were going to the same school , same grade level and never saw each other. Until one day we ended up in a class together and we it just clicked for us :) we were together for 4 years. Love comes when you least expect it
When it happens, it's usually a placebo effect/psychosematic response. The fact that you're intelligent enough to question it, and not believe deep down means it won't work that way for you
So, like many others have said, maybe you SHOULD start prioritizing looking for somebody.
It's kind of true and I think what's funny is, meeting people while you were not ''looking'' those turn out to be the better relationships lol but hmm at some level, even if not consciously, are 'looking' just because we're human and evaluating the opposite sex automatically in that way.
I think it's bull, but that might not be saying much cause I'm extremely anti-social. My definition of "not looking" literally means I don't interact with pretty much anyone, so I have NO chance of meeting someone accidentally.
Yes, it happened to me. I meet my boyfriend when I wasn't looking or even trying. I was a single young mom with a one year old and she was my main focus and I wasn't looking for a relationship when I meet my boyfriend 6yrs ago.
Lol Sally. Here we go again. I always meet important people in my life when I don't expect it. Even the great loves of my life I met when I least expected it. I rarely go searching for a woman as they are always around but my greatest love of my life walked past me and I smartly ran up to her and became her man.
10000% agree with moviedude - it just doesn't happen in real life, at least for us dudes; but heck I dream of it but sadly it will never happen as I'm expected to initiate the conversation and basically all the others that follow as well as being able to keep up the conversation, never to let it become dull and impress her friends and family
All my friends in relationships tell me the same and I think it's bull.. I hope you find happiness
I wish you happiness too. :)
Nope its all BS. If I was meant to be with someone, I would of by now. I believe its true if your a women because they expect a guy to do the approaching women never approach unless they find the guy good looking.
I disagree if you are a guy since guys are still expected to do the approaching and asking out, initiating, unfortunately the hardest part is going about it without coming across as needy and desperate, trying to hard
Do your own thing and also be sure to keep active pursuit of next hookup
Don't rely on it. It can happen You could also win the lottery.
Perhaps in fairy tales and Disney movies, but not in real life.
Usually disagree. Though I find it hard to connect to love in almost any instance
It happened to me. I have up looking and met my dream girl on a complete fluke.
Yeah I believe it. So many other things happened in my life when I was least expecting it.
Errrr pretty false. Maybe it could happen for girls, maybe. For guys, nah.
I think its true depends on destiny
Yeah I think so. :)
