For me I didn't see how bad the marriage was until it was over (Love being blind and all) now I have time to reflect. As far as the saying in your question is concerned, I learned of some new sexual things after it was over that I would go back and do with her if I could. I was a busy man back then supporting a family so our sex life was often rushed. If I had a time machine I would take my time and do everything to her.

No, to be honest we had a lot of sex, but my ex-wife (Though very physically beautiful) is quite a scary and manipulative person on the inside. She's got a very sadistic side to her where she likes to see people get hurt. She likes to lie, cheat, and at her core she was very jealous of me and truly didn't want the best for me. Her love for me was conditional on what I was doing for her. The relationship was basically one-sided at times. I was addicted to her beauty and trying to do my best to raise our son. I lost track of the shady things she was up to and eventually everything fell apart at once. She had been cheating, she had sunk us in financial debt that I knew nothing about, she was neglecting our son and she had also been lying to her coworkers telling them that I was a deadbeat dad who has nothing to do with our child.
My dream woman turned out to be my worst nightmare in the end.
The sex is the only thing I miss about that person otherwise she's kind of a monster.
