Questions: Shopping & Gifts

My ex and I broke up yesterday and I tried to return all of the jewelry, teddy bears and notes that he gave me. He repeatedly wouldn't take it and I told him that if he didn't, I would throw it all in the garbage and his money would go to waste. He still didn't take it. I threw everything away, not in my trash can but in the dumpster. Now he's claiming that I'm rude and inconsiderate but he should've taken his shit when I offered it to him.

I'm planning a gift for my boyfriend and since green is his favorite color (and to make it look a little less girly) I thought of making his gift mainly (pastel) green and pink, since it's a very romantic and sentimental gift.

Although red is also a romantic color, together with green it translates into Christmas, so I'd rather go with pink since it's also quite romantic (and hey, pink is my favorite color!).

And get that gift for them?
Considering that you know this person pretty well and have totally no clue what to get for them.

So what do you think about this one. In many relationships people exchange gifts. Would you ever consider asking something back after a break up? For example if you have given family jewelry or something expensive, would you consider asking the gift back? Or is it extremely rude in every situation?
