I am not sure. These are characters from Pokemon's first generation that was created like 20 years ago, when I was in elementary school and it surely was popular back then. However, they might be "outdated" if those children and their friends watch the newer generations of Pokémon (don't really know if they still make them, but I remember back then they used to release new series every 1-2 years), and those kids might not know them and thus possibly wouldn't fully enjoy them?

I mean if my grandma saw they she would probably just wonder why that "toothy worm" is blue, and why that hairless cat is sitting like human.

I know there are better gifts but they cost more money. Like you can get bead making sets for girls for cheap but boys are harder to buy for cause basketball hoops and binoculars and lasers cost a lot of money so I decided to buy two cheap gender neutral gifts.

Its best to talk to the parents who knows what the kid likes most. Some boys want things with wheels and moving parts, others want hero’s and a set of good guys and bad guys. Some girls want their own makeup set, an animal that tells the good night, stencils, a movie, etc

Since there are 2 children we divide it by 2 which gets us 7. So because they are 7 years of age each I would say that gift is appropriate. Now, we need to know which gift goes to who because that would completely change the situation and would require a complex formula to calculate appropriate scale probability of the gift per child.
