Recently, I have been listening to Cat Stevens music from the olden days, stuff that was recorded years before his eventual conversion to Islam. Apparently he was involved in a controversy about saying an author of a book should die because of the book's blasphemous content. Because of this, some protested by boycotting his songs.

Following Ayatollah Khomeini's February 14, 1989 "death fatwa" against author Salman Rushdie, after the publication of Rushdie's novel The Satanic Verses, Yusuf Islam (previously known as Cat Stevens), made statements endorsing the killing of Rushdie. His statements generated criticism from commentators in the West.

In response, Yusuf Islam said that some of his comments were "stupid and offensive jokes" made in "bad taste."

In a 2000 Rolling Stone magazine interview:

I'm very sad that this seems to be the No. 1 question people want to discuss. I had nothing to do with the issue other than what the media created. I was innocently drawn into the whole controversy. So, after many years, I'm glad at least now that I have been given the opportunity to explain to the public and fans my side of the story in my own words. At a lecture, back in 1989, I was asked a question about blasphemy according to Islamic Law, I simply repeated the legal view according to my limited knowledge of the Scriptural texts, based directly on historical commentaries of the Qur'an. The next day the newspaper headlines read, "Cat Says, Kill Rushdie." I was abhorred, but what could I do? I was a new Muslim. If you ask a Bible student to quote the legal punishment of a person who commits blasphemy in the Bible, he would be dishonest if he didn't mention Leviticus 24:16

So I found out I have hsv-1. I haven't gotten tested but im assuming you don't rlly get cold sores unless you have herpes. Ik it's common but I've been crying about it all day bc I feel like it's gonna ruin any potential relationships I might have. I hate this! Is anyone even gonna wanna kiss me now?

So there's this guy i text with, he texted me first and mostly does. But, he disappears in mid conversation. He was also gone for 2 months. But he just always comes back. And it hurts so much when he disappears. I get depressed, crying all day and stuff.
So me and my friends, came up with two conclusions.
1. He knows that i like him. And he thought, 'oh! This girl likes me! Must make her fall in love!' and is using the toxic technique. Just for fun
2. He just does whatever he feels like not regarding what i will feel.
Ps: i asked him why he disappears and he said, 'sometimes i just don't feel like to be on social media'
But he's online forever.
So... Isn't this just another way of saying, 'sometimes i just don't feel like to talk to you'?
So for the first one, I've been thinking this forever. But, when he talks to me, i just brush the thought off. Because, he's so nice, so clean and everything!
Also, i would've known if he was actually doing that right? While talking, i would've known something!
So i think It's rather the second one
And i also want advice on what i should do

I never kept a diary in my life because I’m very comfortable expressing how I feel in front of my family but I doubt I will feel comfortable doing the same thing If I have a husband that’s why I’m planning to keep a personal diary for myself with a difficult to guess password and hide it somewhere where he will never find it. Whenever I’m hiding my feelings or something else to avoid meaningless conflicts I will write it all down in that diary as I don’t want to have to deal with conflicts in a marriage. Life will be easier that way

It's soo boring and disappointing to me.

Almost like you feel like you don't deserve to enjoy life because other people are suffering so much. It might just be my depression talking which is why I'm wondering if anyone else is feeling this way.

This girl randomly messaged me and told me I was fat and that it made her feel confident in herself because I looked ugly (note I’ve never seen her in my life, this was off of social media randomly which is weird). Now there’s nothing wrong with being fat but it’s just weird coming from a girl who’s overweight while I’m almost underweight? Top photo is her, bottom photo is me. Why do you think she would randomly bully me especially since I’m visibly thinner than her?
