I woke up to this news post this morning and I honestly can't see why in the world the guy actually needed to be fired for having a rifle scope on the wrong way. Am I missing something? Is it fair to relieve a ship commander of his duties for such a small thing? Does the U. S. military find it to be that humiliating? To me that's worse than how Russia used to make their generals kill themselves for losing battles in WWI and II.

If you agree that federal employees should not be making public endorsements, is this a free speech issue? A collective bargaining issue? Use NDAs? Is it constitutional?

The same questions regarding federal contractors - are they private corporations or are they federal employees?

For for federal contractors and employees, what should the punishment be if they do make public endorsements (if any)?

Would the prohibition on employees in contractors speech be absolute? Meaning it would apply for social media? Backyard BBQ conversations?

Let's be real everyone is a proponent of science and technology. Even devout Muslims try to say modern science that never would've existed without irreverence for Islam, a religion that claims to already know it all, somehow confirms what Islam says
